W E D N E S D A Y

Good Afternoon ...

Wednesday ...

According to the Bible, Wednesday is the day when the Sun and Moon were created.

Wednesday is also in the middle of the common 5-day working week from Monday through Friday.

An English language idiom for Wednesday is "hump day", a reference to making it through the middle of the work week as getting "over the hump". It is also unofficially (and with some irony) referred to as "the peak of the week".

.... interesting huh?! Just in case you ever wondered about "Wednesday"!

LeAnna and I took "Nana" to Mt. Juliet this morning to do some shopping - it's a new complex at the Mt. Juliet exit ... really cool ... what's even MORE exciting is that it's just about like the complex they are building 1 mile from my house!!!! YEA!!!! Can't wait ... although the paper this morning said 2008!!! Pooey! Oh well .... all I know is they are putting in Ross and I'm ALL about Ross!

I found some new "odd" dishes ... I love odd dishes ... very odd shaped ... got to make room for them ... I also bought some new dinner plates to match ... white ... all of my dishes are either olive green, red or ivory ... so this is different for me ... like it though. Got them at Home Goods ... man they've got some deals! Great prices!

Happy Wednesday as I leave you with this to ponder ...

iPods and Yeast ...

Good Afternoon ...

Happy day after Memorial Day weekend ... LOTS on the agenda the last few days ... but hey, that's nothing new! =)

Church Sunday, of course ... great church by the way ...

And then Monday - Memorial Day ... We had lunch with our friends DJ and Karla, Preston and Peyton and then went to David and Jennifer's house for dinner (Nathan's brother and his
family) ... over ate as usual ... but hey - that's another thing that's "nothing new"! =) This is Nathan "grilling" dinner ... it started storming and we threw him an umbrella!

So then ... we went by our friends home, the Kelloggs ... visited with their kids that were in from New York ... and they gave me a gift ... I've been doing sessions for them for a couple of years now and they wanted to do something for me ... I opened the bag and it was an i-Pod! I thought I was going to die! I could not believe it! I am SO excited! My VERY OWN! =) I had just told Nathan the other day ... man, I would like to have an i-Pod ... (I got him one for Christmas) ... So with my mouth hanging open ... I'm sitting there not believing it ... So I'm a little excited - can't you tell?! THANKS MIKE and LISA!!!! Wow! Overwhelmed!

Then ... we get home and let Princess out .... the little pooch who felt neglected yesterday ... and for two hours I watched her - not play, not eat, nothing but roll her head around the carpet and any rug she could find and crying with her ears hurting ... so ... we had an appointment at the vet today to get her checked out! She's been rolling around a lot this morning too - just yelping ... it's so pityful ... whenever I touch her ears, she tried to get away from me ... so sad ... and I had to laugh, but she was going around to the door stops and digging them in her ears! I knew she was hurting!

So after making the appointment - I explained to LeAnna what we had to do and she said she couldn't go with me ... that she might get bored! She needed to go to Aunt Judy's house ... she doesn't like to go ANYWHERE near a doctor ... ha! So - long story short - she has a yeast infection in her ears ... apparently a common thing ... she has drops twice a day for 10 days! Yack! She does feel better though ... they dosed her up really good at the vet ... hopefully it will help! They also weighed her again ... two weeks ago she was 8 1/2 pounds ... today - 9 1/2! I told the doc - we should have named her Clifford! ha! Anyhoo ... he informed me today that although the breeder told us she wouldn't get bigger than 12 pounds ... we could look forward to about 18-19 lbs!!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Yes - Clifford for sure! ha!

Happy Tuesday, as I leave you with this "Tammodity" ...

"I am notorious for using "paper towel" products excessively ... I LOVE paper towels ... not sure why ... but I do ... it was even brought up at dinner last night how much I LOVE paper towels and using them ... I have been known to go through a roll in one day! ha! It's not that bad EVERYDAY - but I do use alot ... I am constantly washing my hands for one - so of course, got to have about 2-3 right there ... and then I clean the kitchen counters and sink alot and have to wipe down the whole sink area after spraying with antibacterial spray ... and then I use them for cleaning throughout the whole house ... crazy I know - but that's just one of my "odditys"."

God Just Ate Three Cakes ...

Good Evening ...

WOW!!! Been busyyyyy! Thursday evening was our Sunday School Kick-Off meeting for the new Summer Quarter and we met at Bellevue Center Mall - had some "Chic-Fil-A" and Chair massages at Cypress Moon! It be feelin' good too! ... Woo-Hoo ...

Then ... Friday ... clients to take care of and a graduation to attend. Cody Alexander and Erica Boyd from our church graduated from Harpeth High and the commencement was at Cornerstone Church ... For those of you who don't know Cody ... his Mom is the one who died in the accident in Pigeon Forge on a ride 2 years ago. I know she would be SO proud of him - he's had a rough week ... but he's hanging in there and is going to be fine. There was a lot of support for him at graduation last night. He's very special to our family.

Then ... today ... once again ... clients to take care of ... that pretty much took up most of the day ...

LeAnna made a hilarious funny ... the other day we went to the grocery store ... and I usually let LeAnna have her choice of "Little Debbie Cakes", etc. to pick from ... so this time she chose the "American Cakes" (as she calls them) white cakes, iced with red/white/blue decor icing. She REALLY likes them - and we have to "ration" them ... SO .... yesterday I'm getting dressed and she comes to me and says, "Mommy? When I eat something, does God eat it too?" ... I smiled and thought - oh okay, an opportunity - cool ... so I said ... Yes, baby - God is in us - so I guess what you eat He does too! And so on ... so she said, "Okay" ... then she waited just a minute and again said, "Mommy? Ah, He just ate three cakes!" .... OH My Goodness!!!!! I was laughing so hard that I couldn't even get on to her for "over-eating"! I guess she thought - as long as "God was involved" that she wouldn't get in trouble! Ha!

Happy Memorial Weekend ... and Happy Saturday as I leave you with this thought ...

Rain, Rain ... Go Away!!!!

Good Morning ...

Rainy ... stormy ... dark ... thunder ... lightening ... hail possible/expected ... Yack! Not fun!

I know we gotta have the rain ... but ... when your 4 year old says, "Mom, we gotta go to the basement" ... and every noise she hears she runs and jumps up in my lap ... you start wishing for Mr. Sun again!

So ... the pool ... well ... Mother Nature will have it filled before the pool company does! ha! They started May 2nd ... and today - May 25th ... still just a concrete filled hole! And I was even starting to think ... "Man, maybe they're going to have their act together on this project and get it done quickly - unlike our home they built!!!!!!" Okay ... so ... not going there today ...

Okay ... American Idol! Taylor Hicks is the new American Idol ... he got my vote!!!!! Yea!

I have a Sunday School meeting/outing this evening and I'm trying to get ready for that ... so I guess I better start printing my stuff before the electricty goes out and I'm unable to!

Happy Thursday, as I leave you with this thought from my "Thursday's Child" ...

"I made a little purchase the other day for LeAnna ... it was a magnetic Mrs. Potato Head - which is perfect for church and the car rides! Anyhoo ... she was SO excited and was playing with it and was happy the way she had dressed them up (mr. potato head was included as well) that in trying to get my attention, she said, "Mommy, Mommy .... look what I've done to Bro. Potato Head!"

"You know you spend a lot of time at church when your child addresses her toys as Bro. and Sis.!" hee ha ho! .... tammy

And The Winner Is ...

Good Morning ...

Okay ... so ... American Idol ... oh my .... my vote goes for Taylor Hicks ... from the very beginning I've liked him ... he makes me happy ... I enjoy watching him ... he is a true blue entertainer ... he seems "real" ... his personality seems to always shine through in this innocent, positive way ... Katherine on the other hand ... is VERY good as well ... her vocal ability is "a given" ... you know the girl can "sang!" ... when she's her best is on certain songs like "Over The Rainbow" ... this truly shows her "stuff" ... BUT ... I don't really think she would be an "all around" good singer ... but Taylor on the other hand is an "all around"! He can take any song given to him and make it his own ... So I guess you can tell my vote goes to Taylor ... We'll see tonight ...

I am so happy in my little home today ... my doggie, Princess ... FINALLY decided to start giving us signals to go out to potty! We've been having to go to the door every 15 minutes and ask if she wanted to go out ... she even got to the point where she would just go stand by the door ... and if you were there to open it GREAT ... if you weren't ... there was a puddle on the hardwood by the door! Well ... hallelujah! She's giving me signs now! Woo-Hoo .... for those of you who have never had the opportunity to puppy train ... this is really GOOD! =) Oh ... yeah ... and the sign is this ... she runs and jumps up on my leg ... backs up ... when I stand up, she runs to the door .... Yea!!!!!

It's the little things .... =)

Okay ... so ... busy, busy today ... lots on the plate ... (just wish it included a little fried chicken and mashed potatoes) hee ha ho

Last Day ...

Good Afternoon ...

Today was LeAnna's last day of school ... she wasn't too excited about me leaving her this morning ... but she seemed fine when I picked her up ... Today they watched a Disney Movie and ate popcorn! No complaint there! ha!

This is Mrs. Henderson, her teacher and Ms. Karon the assistant. She really liked her teachers and we enjoyed getting to know them ... she took a little "good-bye" gift to them this morning ... she was pleased to hand them out ...

Her best friend Lauren wasn't at school today on the last day - her family left early for vacation and her last day was last Thursday ... which I didn't realize ... we had something for Lauren too ... oh well ... I have her Mommy's email - so we'll get in touch with them ... Lauren is not returning this next year - her family is moving ... so LeAnna is wanting us to "keep in touch".

Tonight is the END of the END of American Idol ... It's Katherine McPhee and Taylor Hicks ... I really like both ... but I'm pulling for Taylor ... he's an all-around "entertainer" ... So ... we'll see!

I have a client this afternoon since the weather is FINALLY "workable" ... so I better get busy ...

Happy Tuesday as I leave you with this thought ... tammy

Tone Zone ...

Good Morning ...

Happy Monday ... =)

Just a "nugget" from my "reading time" this morning ...

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
Proverbs 15:23

There is nothing like someone saying the "right thing" at just the "right time"! Just when you need to "hear" that special something that someone says to you. And when they say it - you immediately know you were meant to hear it ... and it wasn't just a "rambling"!

I've also learned that "what you say" can either bring a "happy" or an "unhappy" ... you get to be the Eto! (that would be judge for those of you who chose not to watch the LONG hours of O.J. Simpson's trial).

As a stay at home wife/mom ... I've also learned that I MAJORLY contribute to the "tone" in my home ... I can either make it a "happy tone" or an "unhappy tone" ... and when my husband arrives home he can sense if it's a "happy zone" or an "unhappy zone" ... (so would that be a "tone zone"?) ha! ... okay ... so you see ... I'm already at work for a "setting" in my home today!

GREAT church yesterday ... for those of you who attend church - I'm in hopes you had "great church" as well ... for those of you who don't attend on a regular basis ... something to think about ... it is "life-changing" literally ... where else can you go and find everything you would ever need all at the same time ... no where that I know of ... something to think about ... =)

Happy, Happy day as I leave you with these few thoughts ... tammy

Any Comments?

Good Morning ...

I'm having to laugh this morning! Someone sent a "comment" to the day before yesterday's blog (Thursday) ... it simply says, "Is Tracy the only one who reads your blog besides me?" ... and it's signed "anonymous" ... From what I can gather lots of people read my blog ... but I think everyone is scared to comment ... there was a little "misunderstanding" a few months ago on a particular subject ... and since then - haven't had many "comments" made ... I have received a BUNCH of emails though of different ones telling me they enjoy the blog ... oh well ... no big deal ... BUT ... fyi ... "commenting" is a side-kick to "blogging" for those of you who are not on the "up and up" ... =) And ... all comments are appreciated and just a way of keeping in touch ... So ... thanks Tracy for "commenting" and keeping in touch ... enjoy your blog as well ... =)

Okay ... so ... BUSY day yesterday .... DEFINITELY feeling my age today ... Unbelievable how tired I am ... getting older ... part of life ...

I'm sure my "older" blogger friends are thinking ... "You ain't seen nothing yet!" ha! And you're probably right!

So ... I've got to get busy ... but leaving you with this thought ... tammy

Thirty-Six ...

Good Afternoon ...

So ... I woke up this morning thinking ... okay ... 36 ... I'm supposed to feel "different" ... I'm no longer a part of the "young marrieds" at church ... I am "pushing 40" according to a few people ... I am "almost" middle-aged ... should I start dressing differently? Should I change? ...

silly me ...

I was laying there "thinking" I was supposed to be different! Okay - so maybe I should just defy that thinking! ha!

Last night we had a lot of fun at Cinco de Mayo! Several family members and friends were there to help me celebrate!

Here are a few pics to "prove" the evening ...

I was surprised when our "Cinco de Mayo friends" came out to sing Happy Birthday to me ... they put this sombrero on my head - and rocked me back and forth while they sang!

It was a nice evening ...

So ... we get home and we're laying down next to LeAnna to get her to "wind down" .... when she says ... "man, my tummy is going NUTS!" .... "it feels like God is dancing in there"! ... kids can come up with some funny stuff! We started laughing so hard! Come to find out ... she was hungry!

Happy - Happy Friday as I leave you with this ...

1970 Was A Good Year ...

Good Morning ...

This is going to be a good day ... this is going to be a good day .... this is going to be a good day ....

Can you tell I'm trying to talk myself into having a good day?!

LeAnna woke up crying and all choked up right off the bat! Bless her heart ... just don't know what else to say or do ... I left her crying when I left school ... Don't get me wrong ... I LOVE that LeAnna loves being with Mommy ... BUT ... oh my ... I almost feel like the teacher is thinking "oh no, here they come again" ... very frustrating ...

And ....

My friend Jason Huckaby's mother passed away ... she's been suffering with cancer for a while and it ended up turning into Luekemia ... so sad ... the funeral is in Clinton, Tennessee (near Knoxville) ... we'll be going there for the funeral on Saturday ... (our first road trip in the Quest)

Anyhoo ....

Princess had a doctor's appointment this morning ... last one for a year ... she's 8 1/2 pounds! OH MY .... what happened to my little bitty puppy?!?!?!?! She is fit as a fiddle at four months old ... got two shots ... and we go back in two months for "The Surgery"! No babies for this baby!

Today is my birthday ... we are eating at Cinco De Mayo's this evening ... LeAnna keeps asking what kind of party I'm having! I guess she think's it's going to be a party like she would have! Too cute! My favorite restaurant is the Cheesecake Factory ... but there are several attending and there's not a wait at "May 5th"! So ... we'll do the "factory" another day! And I do love mexican food!

Yes ... born in 1970, on a Monday, at 10:32 p.m. ... although ... I don't really remember much about that day! ha! ... I do know that I was "overdone" ... according to my Momma! I was two weeks late and READY to arrive! =)

So ... happy Thursday as I leave you with this thought ... tammy

Good Morning ...

R-A-I-N .... Today was supposed to be LeAnna's end of the year school picnic ... don't think that's going to happen ... plus, she's still got this croupy cough - it's just from her sinus problem but it's only supposed to be around 55 degrees this morning ... so I don't think we'll take the chance of making it worse .... PLUS ... I have to work this morning and I have two clients this afternoon (if it doesn't rain) ... but looking at the weather report - I have a feeling they will get cancelled ... Daddy was going to take LeAnna to her picnic this morning since I'm having to work ... she's going to be disappointed ... but I'm sure she'll find "something" for them to do! ha! She's good at "planning" things! She has talked him into bowling and glow golf in the last few days ... just something about those chocolate browns ...

Yesterday turned into a bit of a fiasco! After speaking to my mother-in-law yesterday - we found out that LeAnna had arranged a "pick-up from school" by Granny and Papaw ... so she cancelled plans to go see her Dad in Clarksville becuase of her ... oh my! THEN - they got there to pick her up and she started crying for Mommy! They were going to take her to lunch before bringing her home ... but ... they ended up bringing her straight home ... I felt so bad and I was not a happy camper with her ...

Anyone who knows me well ... knows that I love the history of the Titanic ... here is an article in regards to the last survivor with "memories" of the sinking who passed away ... there are actually two more survivors, but they were only 2 months and 10 months at the time of the sinking and of course have no recollection ....

To her eternal rest:Lillian Gertrud Asplund: 1906-2006

It is our sad duty to report that the last Titanic survivor with memories of the disaster has died. Lillian Gertrud Asplund, the last American survivor of the 1912 sinking, was 99 years old when she died Saturday at her home in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.Asplund was just five years old when she lost her father and three brothers -- including a fraternal twin -- on the night the "practically unsinkable" ship went down in the North Atlantic after hitting an iceberg."She went to sleep peacefully," said Ronald E. Johnson, vice president of the Nordgren Memorial Chapel in Worcester, Massachusetts.Asplund's mother, Selma, and another brother, Felix, who was 3, also survived the Titanic sinking in the early morning of April 15, 1912.Asplund was the last Titanic survivor with actual memories of the sinking, but she shunned publicity and rarely spoke about the events. At least two other survivors are living, but they were too young to have memories of the disaster. Barbara Joyce West Dainton of Truro, England, was 10 months old and Elizabeth Gladys "Millvina" Dean of Southampton, England, was 2 months old.The Asplund family had boarded the ship in Southampton, England, as third-class passengers on their way back to Worcester from their ancestral homeland, Sweden, where they had spent several years.Asplund's mother described the sinking in an interview with the Worcester Telegram & Gazette newspaper shortly after she and her two children arrived in the city.Selma Asplund said the family went to the Titanic's upper deck after the ship struck the iceberg."I could see the icebergs for a great distance around ... It was cold and the little ones were cuddling close to one another and trying to keep from under the feet of the many excited people ... My little girl, Lillie, accompanied me, and my husband said 'Go ahead, we will get into one of the other boats.' He smiled as he said it."Because they lost all of their possessions and money, the city of Worcester held a fundraiser and a benefit concert that together brought in about $2,000 for the surviving Asplunds.Lillian Asplund never married and worked at secretarial jobs in the Worcester area most of her life. She retired early to care for her mother, who was described as having never gotten over the tragedy.Selma Asplund died on the 52nd anniversary of the sinking in 1964 at age 91. Felix Asplund died on March 1, 1983, at age 73.A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Johnson said.

Museday ...

Good Morning ... it's Museday! Monday and Tuesday combined - ha! Yesterday was VERY busy ... and we were out all afternoon and up into the evening ... It was our "free night" / "family night" ... we went to Opry Mills - I did some shopping and Nathan and LeAnna played Glow Golf! Then he took her and bought $14 worth of M&M's! Oh My Goodness .... he was just letting her pick out colors ... and out they walk with this wheel barrel full of M&M's! Yack! SO ... they got put in a tall, clear cookie jar for safe keeping and "rationing"! That's what happens when Daddy's and little girls have a "date"! Those chocolate brown eyes, melt his blue ones and that's all she wrote!

Man - it's chilly today! LeAnna wore long-sleeve to school! ... LeAnna informed me on the way to school that Granny and Papaw were picking her up today! I'm not sure what's she is talking about - so I've got to make a phone call ... she is learning phone #'s and she came to me last night for me to remind her of Granny and Papaw's phone number and once she got them on the phone she headed upstairs! ... then Nathan calls this morning and says, I overheard LeAnna talking to my Mother last night about her picking LeAnna up from school! She's too funny ... she is all about planning "something" all the time!

I just realized (at 4am this morning) that I have not posted LeAnna's playroom COMPLETED FINALLY ... it's been finished for a while, but I haven't taken any pictures to post ... so here it is! SO glad it's done! She seems to really be enjoying it. Still wanting to get some seating for the rug in front of the TV - planning on doing some "anywhere chairs" from Potterybarn ...

Oh - was up at 4am because LeAnna woke us up crying with her feet hurting ... a while back she complained with her legs hurting alot (crying in the middle of the night with them) ... now her feet? So - once again the "Blue Stuff" from TV came in handy - thanks Mom! =)

Happy Muesday as I leave you with this "Tamoddity" ... tammy

Mother's Day 2006

Happy Mother's Day!

My day has been great so far! This morning ... Nathan got LeAnna up, gave her a bath, helped me wash her hair, did a couple of more things to help my morning go a little smoother, before he left for church ... what a guy! Thanks Nate!

LeAnna and Daddy gave me the sweetest cards this morning and I received an afternoon at Illusions Day Spa! Woo-Hoo!!!!! I'm excited about that! AND Nathan said it had to be redeemed THIS WEEK! Not going to argue with him there! =)

This morning at church we had a small presentation for the Mother's ... included in that presentation was a song that LeAnna and I sang together (first time for LeAnna to stand up in church and sing) .... PROUD MOMMY and a VERY Proud Daddy too! The song was "In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride ... well ... I have always said, from the moment I heard that song that I could have written it to LeAnna ... and I cry like a baby EVERYTIME I hear it .... so ... imagine me trying to sing this .... not just sing it - but her by my side singing with me!!!! I prayed this morning that God would help me and give me a "cold heart" for just 3 minutes so I could muddle my way through it! ha! Well ... He helped ... shakey voice, but got through it without busting out like I normally do ... it was video taped, so I'm anxious to see LeAnna! While we were singing, there were 4 sets of Mothers with their daughters at different ages that walked around, danced around with their girls ... it was SO precious ... BUT I missed it, so can't wait to see the video ...

My mother went to church with us this morning ... that was a nice treat and then we went to lunch with the whole family ....

It's been a very nice day thus far ....

Happy, Happy Mother's Day as I leave you with this personal thought of mine today ...

"I am humbled, thankful and so satisfied in this day ... what a joy it is to partake in this "taken for granted" role by so many people ... I do NOT take my Motherly role for granted ... I am SO blessed to be in "This Moment" and enjoy "this time" in my life! I prayed for SO LONG for my very own little person to care for ... and God granted me this life-long wish. My prayer "this day" is to always seek God for the best of everything for my LeAnna ... that I can be a Godly role model for this little innocent person He has intrusted me with, to raise her in "His" ways and not my own ... with "His" wisdom and not my own ... and with His tender mercy and grace, pray that one day we both here "Well Done"." ..... tammy

A Wrinkle Free Brunch ...

Good Afternoon ...

This morning we had a Mother's Day Brunch at our church ... the theme was "Wrinkle Free Woman" ... and my Mom was able to attend with LeAnna and I ... that was nice since she attends another church and we don't get to "fellowship" much "church wise". So it made for a nice morning.

This is the first "ladies function" that LeAnna has been to ... so it was exciting for her and for Mommy as well! She was so happy about her goodie bag that had "lip gloss" in it!

W-H-A-T A D-A-Y .....

Good Morning ...

W-H-A-T A D-A-Y So Far!!!!! Oh My Goodness ... I made me a list of things to do "Today" and my list generated lists! ha!

I have a MAJOR project I'm trying to complete for work ... have two clients this afternoon (which one just re-scheduled for next week) , so just one now ... AND ... trying to get ready for our Mother's Day Brunch in the morning ... a list of things there to do including preparing "stuff" for the children that will be present, baking a dish, and "polishing" my little "talk" I've been asked to speak about tomorrow ... ALSO have Mother's Day gifts left to complete (actually almost finished - just "last minute" to-do's) ... Meet with a client this afternoon/evening to view her pictures ... and the list goes on and on and on ....

THANK GOD ... Nathan came home early, got LeAnna and took her "somewhere" ...

She was in the living room earlier - "raising her voice" to Princess, saying "Leave Me Alone - I can't concentrate" ... and she repeated it over and over ... Oh My! I was working on the computer and couldn't "concentrate" myself for her not being able to concentrate! Ha!

SO ... I am now going to take a nice, peaceful shower ... get dressed and go meet my client ...

Happy Mother's Day Weekend!!!! To all the WONDERFUL Mom's! Don't you LOVE the rewards of being a Mom?!

LeAnna came up to me this morning and said ... "Mom, where did you get all those names like "Boop-Oop-Be-Doop", "Lady-Bug", "Lucy-Lu" and all those silly names, where did you get that? I said, "I made them up just for YOU" ... she gave me the biggest hug and said, "And I'm your baby girl too"! Ahhh ... stuff like that - it just don't get any better ... moments I share with her like that are better than any gift I could receive on Sunday!

Happy Friday as I leave you with this thought .... tammy

Muffins With Mommy ...

Good Morning ...

This morning was "Muffins with Mommy" at school with LeAnna .... we had SO much fun! Only teared up twice! ha!

This is a chart the teacher made, asking each child "What Our Mom's Do" ... LeAnna's response says, "Cleans my room".

LeAnna presented me with this Mother's Day present ... it was a picture frame she made and had her picture in it! How sweet is that! Yes ... this was one of those moments that I teared up! My first "home-made" gift from "school"! Another one of those "I waited a long time for this" kind of moments!

We hung out for about an hour and then it was time to leave ... LeAnna really enjoyed me being there with her ... everywhere I went around the room, she said, "where you going?" ... she thought I was leaving "too soon"! =)

Bless her heart ... she is such a sweetheart and such a joy ... I am SO BLESSED to be her Mommy! .... Wow! Thanks God ... I love this gift You gave me that I am able to enjoy everyday!

This is a picture of LeAnna and her friend Lauren ....

and her working on the computer ....

What a nice morning ... now, I must get back to work ... for I have lots to do (as usual) ...

Happy Thursday as I leave you with this thought ... tammy

"Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away." ~Dinah Craik

I Remember ...

Good Afternoon ...

It really hasn't stopped raining much but I did take a quick snap this morning on the way to the store ...

I'm really enjoying the van thus far ... haven't had it long enough to really get a fill for it - but so far so GOOD!

I've been Working, working, working today ... HAD to get some stuff done before this afternoon ... completed it ... doesn't that make you feel good, when you complete something?!

Does me ...

Anyhoo ... trudging right along ...

Tomorrow is "Muffins with Mom" at LeAnna's preschool ... sounds exciting ... what's funny is that I thought I had to prepare and bring muffins ... was even thinking/planning on what to fix ... and found out yesterday when picking up LeAnna that it was being provided for the "Mommy's" ... WOW! Cool ... so - maybe I'll get a pic of us tomorrow at the function to post ...

I had a "Moment" today ... not an "ahh" moment ... but an "I remember" kind of moment ...

... actually I have noticed LeAnna doing this more lately ... for instance - today, LeAnna has had a cough, congested kind of cough - but I think it's just sinus drainage ... she has allergies and I'm thinking it's just draining into her chest ... she has no fever, no sore throat, none of the symptoms you would normally exhibit ... anyhoo ... today she said, "Mommy, when you were a little girl, did you cough like that so it would clear out of your lungs? Have you ever done like this? Will I be okay?" .... and of course, as any mother would say ... I said, "Of course, and oh yes I remember I did that and yes, you're going to be just fine". .... all the while smiling on the inside - just remembering that I did the EXACT same thing to my Mom .... if something was not "just right" and I had a concern I would always ask my Mom if she ever felt that way and she would ALWAYS say that she had and that she knew exactly what I was talking about or feeling! And somehow, I immediately felt better - I guess just knowing that everything was going to "be okay"! I really remember asking her things like this when I was in the emergency room a few times as a child because of high sugar or dehydration, etc... which can be very dangerous for a diabetic (not on the pump) ... which at that time there was no such thing ... and I remember laying there feeling so scared being hooked up to IV's, etc. and wondering if I was going to be okay ... and Mom always had just the right thing to say to make me feel "safe" and "secure".

It's funny how "certain" events really stick out in your mind throughout your life.

Happy Wednesday as I leave you with this thought ... tammy

A Quest ...

Good Afternoon ...

Been a LONG morning ... just getting home ...

Nathan came in with a new vehicle last night! A 2006 Nissan Quest ... fully loaded ... I LOVE it! I'm so excited! Ever since he had gotten rid of our van, I have missed it ... just so much more room than the little SUV we had ...

So ...

When he arrived home with it last night late, like 9pm ... we piled in and of course had to take a test drive ... still not knowing what it "really" looked like, because it was so dark ... and we're driving along ... and I said .... well ... for our Anniversary you came home and surprised me with a dog ... and I guess this is my Mother's Day gift ... I absolutely cannot WAIT to see what I get for my birthday in a couple of weeks! ha! He didn't have much to say! =)

Anyhoo ... he wheeled and dealed and got a good deal ... SO ... Yea! I'm excited and LeAnna is beyond excited! It has a DVD screen that flips down out of the ceiling and last night she said, "Hey, we could drive this to church ... and I could watch my DVD on the way to church every time"! Then ... at school this morning ... the first thing she said to her teacher was ... "I got a new car!" .... so they said, Wow, what kind? And she said ... "white"! ha!

So here are a few pictures from last night ... I'll post another one after I take one during the daytime and when it's not raining!

Happy Tuesday as I leave you with this thought ... tammy

Top 5

Good Morning ...

It's "Monday" again! Man ... time flies! Lots on the agenda today ... work, work and more work, then ... more work! Also have to do my grocery shopping ... and go and complete my Mother's Day presents ... been working on these for a few weeks ... AND cook supper, clean and do laundry ... it's an on-going process ... called "LIFE"! And ... "Life" is what we make it ... and I've determined within myself today to make "today" a Good Day!

So ... I made a "mental list" last week ... and I've been chuckling to myself all week ... so I thought I would list it today ...

"Top 5 Ways You Can Tell Mom Has Been Sick"

5. Even though you feel you're at deaths door you still have to answer questions, fix hair, "find something lost", comfort those who are not feeling well and let the dog out!

4. When you "feel better" you find EVERYTHING is exactly the way you left it the minute prior to getting sick!

3. The bathroom is not sparkly clean, "germ free" and sanitized when you FINALLY go back in there in a Normal, Well state

2. If you want crackers, sprite or a clean wet rag for your head - you have to get up and fix it yourself!

1. There are NO clean towels left in the linen closet to even take a simple shower and you end up using 3 hand towels just to dry off and dry your hair, AFTER contemplating messing up the "decorative towels" hanging on the wall.

THAT's how you can tell when "Mom" has been sick!

Ha!

Oh well ... wouldn't trade a moment of my "mommy life"!

Happy Monday as I leave you with this "Tamoddity" ...

"I smell everything! I associate by smell ... I have done this for a VERY long time ... well, really as long as I can remember ... SO ... I'm all about Emeril - when he says you should call your local network and request "Smell-A-Vision"! Oh yeah Babe!

The Weekend ...

Happy Sunday ...

Great weekend ... LeAnna went to Granny's house Saturday for a picnic that she had promised her and Dawson for several weeks. She was SO excited to be able to do this! Her and Dawson had made a checklist of everything they wanted at their picnic and gave it to Granny! From what I hear the "Picnic with Granny" was a success!

Great church today ... visiting minister ... Rev. Dennis Lewis ... a "life-changing" minister! There are many lives that will be changed after today's services!

I'm very tired this evening ... and ready to "retire" ... =)

Happy Sunday as I leave you with this thought ... tammy
