Crazy ...

Here's my lucy bug ... we did some family pics this weekend for hopefully a Christmas Card ... THANKS Renee for helping out - couldn't have done it without you!

So ... have you ever been in a situation ... where ... you looked like you were doing something that was SO not you ... yet ... you weren't really doing anything wrong?!

Okay ... not making sense ...

So ... today ...

I went to the liquor store ...

yep ... well ... sometimes .... you just gotta do what you gotta do ... and today was one of those days!

First ... I had to take mom to work ... which included a tour of Nashville and 4 stops along the way ... one of those stops included the liquor store!

Yep ... not used to going to the liquor store ... but ... mom insisted! ha! (she has 50 Christmas Puddings to make today)

anyhoo ...

Mom was an old pro in the liquor store ... she had everything she needed and was at the counter paying and I was still trying to decide on one bottle of Sherry for a dish I've been wanting to try ... and a good friend of mine told me not to buy it at the grocery store - it makes the dish taste like rubbing alcohol ... so here I am ... not having a clue ... so this nice lady walks up and asks if she can help ... whew - glad she knew what I needed ... she chose one and handed it to me ...

So out we walk, my one bottle in hand (brown bagged) and her $100 worth of Jack Daniels!

So funny ...

Yep ... weird situation ... and the whole time I'm thinking ... "if anyone sees us coming out of Belle Meade Liquor, oh my ..."

so ... yes, there were people standing around in the store and outside of the store - minding their own business ... but I felt very impelled to say "Sweet Potato Bake and Christmas Pudding", while holding up the brown bag! Like they care! But I sure did! And then there's mom wagging a whole box of Jack out to the van! Barely can walk due to her knee situation ... it's not funny - but yet at the same time VERY funny! oh my ... bless her heart ... looked as if she had been nippin' a little herself ... bless her heart ...

Anyhoo ...

Just one of those odd situations that you get into sometimes ... oh well ...

Crazy day, crazy morning, crazy night last night ... crazy, crazy - my life! I would try to explain, but I'm tried of thinking about my crazy life right now ... so ... anyoo ...

Yep ... crazy day ...

so ... getting ready for a little shindig at the house this weekend ... having a few couples over to start the holiday season ... we've asked everyone to bring a gag gift ... I've found one, but I'm in search of another one ... anyone have any ideas?

Can't wait to see what else is looming around my crazy corners today ...

More Than The Turkey Was Stuffed ...

Are you stuffed?

I'm stuffed!

Still stuffed from last Thursday!

We had about 22 people at our house Thursday - we made a menu and everyone contributed to make up our Thanksgiving Dinner ... and it was all so good! We didn't do turkey ... I know, I know ... BUT ... we had chicken and dressing, honey baked ham and pork tenderloin -- umm ... ummm ... good! We had a pile of desserts - which there was no room in the kitchen for desserts - so I set up a small table in the foyer ... ha! loved it ... at one point I said - man ... I would love to wake up every morning and there be a table of desserts in my foyer! ha!

What am I saying?! NO I wouldn't! Okay ... I know it's Monday ... BUT ... I'm actually watching what I eat today ...
okay ... so I've watched breakfast go down so far and I'm anticipating lunch ... ha! oh well ... told you I couldn't start a diet on a Monday! Tuesday is the better choice and Wednesday sounds even better! ha!

oh well ...

Had a pump issue last night and was up a lot during the night ... part of it! So ... today - I'm a bit loopy!

Anyhoo ...

I was so excited about having Thanksgiving at our home this year (our first one at this house) and got all excited about decorating (my favorite time of the year) ... that I took the time to take pictures before the guests arrived and then forgot to pick the camera back up and take any of the guests! How dumb is that?!?!?!?! I'm so dumB .... oh well ... I'm starting to snicker about it now, but was not liking myself too much after everyone left and I realized what I had done (or not done!)

It was a good day!
Although - I was SO tired!!! I was wiped out on Friday and well ... Saturday I found myself TRYING to stay motivated ... =0)

Better now ...

Yesterday we did family pictures here ... oh my ... it was non stop from the time we got up until the time we fell into the bed last night and then ... the pump issue ... so I was back up from 2a-4a ... NOT FUN!

OH well ... it's this weird thing called LIFE!

So ... here's a few pics of the 'beginning' of our Thanksgiving ... yikes! Still can't believe I didn't get pictures ... however, I did take some video footage of everyone eating ... it's really hard for me to think of doing both ... so ... at least we have some video of the day!

Here's hoping you and yours had a blessed Thanksgiving Holiday/Weekend and that you took some time to reflect on what's important in your life ... family, friends, many many blesssings, and LOTS of good food! (had to throw that in there, it is important right?!)

Thanks Day

Tuesday was Grandparent's Day at school ....

Nana, Granny and Papaw were all able to attend with her ... I went with them so I could take some pictures ... =0)

She had a cute little program - it had a patriotic theme and each group took turns singing. It was a nice morning ... afterwards, she went home with Granny and Papaw!

Here are a few pictures from the event ...

LeAnna is growing up WAY too fast for my comfort level ...

I couldn't help but "think" the whole time I was standing in the gym, - listening, watching, taking pictures ... that ... this is the beginning of many times in this gym that I will be listening, watching, taking pictures! And that these moments were the ones I had waited for SO long ... to be able to do this kind of stuff! Everything in her life, I totally enjoy and try not to take for granted each special moment ... for there was a time that I would sit and dream of the things I am privileged to do now ... so ... yep ... tears sprung forward (of course) they didn't actually pour out - I stopped that by looking up at the ceiling and out across the gym like there was a purpose for doing this ... =0) ... anyhoo ... nope I wasn't really invited to this event - ha - but ... someone had to document with pictures! =0)

Tomorrow - today actually - I know ... it's late ... this is the first opportunity I have had to get on the computer ... been super busy today ... got 22 people coming tomorrow - today ... =0)

I found a little something that interested me ... thought I would share ...

President George Washington made this national Thanksgiving proclamation in 1789.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection, aid, and favors ...

Now therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of the United States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, and is, or that will be; that we may all then unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country, and for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

Years before this proclamation ... there was a Governor Bradford in 1623, three years after the Pilgrims settled at Plymouth ... that wrote a proclamation to all the Pilgrims to recognize Thursday, the 29th as a rendering of thanks to Almighty God for all His blessings ... and was to be done between the hours of 9am - 12 noon.

We're celebrating on the 22nd of November, in the year of our Lord, two thousand and seven, at 1:00pm ... =0)

Framed Thoughts ...

In my lifetime ... I have taken thousands and thousands of pictures, literally.

And I got to thinking about this today ... I really, seriously, do have an issue ... I really am "snap happy" as I refer to myself to clients - and at times the client would look at me, with this "how in the world will I be able to choose" sort of look ... but I have strategized about this forever and came up with being "snap happy" so as to provide 20-40 very good poses instead of "well, you paid for 40, but here are 2 good ones" sort of thing ... which happened to me when LeAnna was a baby and I vowed to be different! ANYHOO ... not case and point - but ...

Ok ... so ... I got to thinking about this today ... how ... I really do take LOTS of pictures ... and LOVE all of the picture I take of LeAnna and have TONS and TONS of really good ones ...

BUT ...

There are only a rare few that I actually choose to frame.

When you frame a picture ... it's normally because #1 it "means something" to you, has significance, it's worthy of hanging.

AND ... everyday you pass this "framed" picture, look at it over and over. And when you look at it over and over, it brings up a memory of significance. It might strike a chord of contentment, or a chord of laughter, of love, and even at times strike a chord of pain.

Although, I have many pictures that I absolutely adore ... there are those few special ones that mean enough to display, keep at the forefront, for memory recall every time I pass it.

hmmmm ...

In my quiet time this morning ... a special thought was placed within me ... about my "thoughts".

Whether I know it or not ... I have actually "framed" thoughts in my head.

Good ones and bad ones ... but they are there, nicely framed and positioned just so-so in the corners of my mind.

I have thoughts ALL day long ... but certain ones I choose to frame ...

Some of my framed thoughts are happy thoughts ... "make me smile" thoughts.

But ... most of my "framed" thoughts lately have reeked of negativity. ... not by choice ... well ... yes ... by choice I guess ...

It's easy sometimes to frame the wrong kind of thoughts I guess ... and then everyday, I pass by those framed thoughts of negativity ONLY because I hung them there!

Dumb me ... I'm complaining about this issue and I am the only one responsible for framing my thoughts of negativity!

Yes ... I guess it's normal to have negative thoughts, but it is so not healthy to dwell on them and actually take the time to think about them enough to go out and have them framed only to have them hanging around up there for me to pass by them everyday and dwell there!

Whew ... okay ... earth to Tammy ...

Anyhoo ... guess what I'm trying to say is that ... I am analyzing myself a little bit today ... and trying to make a conscience effort to take down some of the "negative" artwork and replace it with more "positive" artwork (thoughts).

It is really easy to think there's no one else going through what I am going through in this WHOLE world! Right?! oh well ... another one of those dumb thoughts that should never have had the first nail driven in the framework!

But hey ... we live and learn ...

So ... I decided to focus on someone else who might be worse off than myself ...

And wouldn't you know ... the opportunity presented itself just today!

I had another appointment at the eye doctor this afternoon ... I was sitting by myself in the waiting room, waiting to dilate (ha - almost sounded childbirthish -huh?!) ... pondering "thoughts" (yep - good ones and bad ones) ... and an older gentleman sitting across from me got my attention and started talking ...

I had spent all morning in a doctor's office with my Mom being seen by an ortho surgeon, who told her she would need total knee replacements in both knees at the first of the year ...

so I was already tired and worn and really didn't want to talk ...

BUT ... he was by himself too and looked like he really needed to talk to someone ...

so I listened and answered his questions with yes, no, hmmm, oh wow, bless your heart, really?, I'm so sorry ...

and then the thought popped into my head ... (and I'm glad I did not say my thought out loud) "man, if I were you, I might just open that window right there and jump!" ... ha!

Bless his heart ... this guy was pitiful ...

the really weird thing about this was ... he was a diabetic, was on an insulin pump, had been having hemorrhages, had gone through some laser surgeries ... basically my story, but his was a WHOLE lot worse ... his body had become insulin resistant, and his body was rejecting the insulin ... they had given him a 5x strength insulin of what I was taking ... in essence and in comparison to the strength I take, he is taking 912 units of insulin per day in his basil rate, which means when he eats he has to pump even more!!!!! OH my ...

I take 21.5 units per day in my basil rate - this is not much, definitely not much in comparison.

... and suddenly my issues didn't seem as significant.

They called his name ... he stood ... and I wished him well and to hang in there ... and then he said to me ...
"I understand what you're dealing with" ...

Wow!

Suddenly I'm wanting to take down a few of my "framed negativity" thoughts and replace them with thoughts of compassion and concern for my "brother in HIGH need" of something!

Who knows ... maybe he was there today just for me ...

And who knows ... I might still try to pick up some of the negative frames from time to time ... but at least I have given it a name and recognize its effects.

Framed thoughts ... hmmm ...

interesting to me ... might not make sense to anyone but me ... but hey ... this is my journal ... so I guess it doesn't have to make sense.

Anyhoo ... guess I need to let those thoughts of negativity be "fleeting" and start framing more positive ones.

And ... the doctor visit ... well ... no 'new' changes ... and the blood is clearing ... so we wait ... one more month ... go back ... and he mentioned "some laser surgery" ... wow! Two weeks ago he was talking the "major" surgery ... and now just some laser ... which I've had done several times before ... in office ... uncomfortable ... but not too bad ... doable in comparison with being admitted to a hospital and being under the knife for several hours!

this helped to feed my "positive" thoughts today ...

thanks God!

The Big 35 and the First Play Date ...

Happy Birthday to Nate!

I tried SO hard to surprise him with a breakfast party this morning! My plans didn't go as planned, but in the grand scheme of things - all went well!

We had a WONDERFUL breakfast at Merriman's Tea Room ... knowing the owner has benefits - since breakfast is not a "normal" thing for them! However, after tasting everything they had this morning, I am SO convinced that they SHOULD be serving breakfast every Saturday morning! Wow! It was SO good!!!!

Happy 35th Nate - here's to MANY more!!!!!!

Yesterday afternoon, LeAnna had her first playdate with Jaden ... when they got in the car from school - they could hardly talk from giggling so much all the way home!!! The funniest is this ... normally when I pick LeAnna up from school, she is STARVING!!!! Lunch is at 10:40am and they have one little snack in the afternoon ... so she usually eats supper at 3:30 and a snack at our supper time ... SO ... I offered on the way home to get them something ... nope - not hungry ... SO ... we get home ... I offer again ... nope - not hungry ... I asked like 4 different times before Jaden's mom picked him up ... about the 3rd time I asked LeAnna was way too ready and caved ... she had to have something to eat!

Just thought it was so funny that they were too excited to eat! ha!

At one point LeAnna admitted to him that she wrote "LeAnna loves Jaden" on a piece of paper - he was so embarrassed! .... yikes! .... all on the first playdate! ... oh my ... THEN, wanted to hug him before he left and he was too embarrassed ...
It was VERY difficult to get a picture because they were so giddy and wouldn't stop and pose!

oh my ... oh well ... they had too much fun!

This next week is Thanksgiving week ... VERY busy this next week ... we're having dinner at our house this year ... I'm excited about everyone coming over ...

The Pink Monkey and the Blue Shoe Intruder ...

This past Sunday we had an Animal Dress Up Sunday contest ... the rules were to be creative and dress as one of the six animals that are featured in our promotion this quarter ... we had some awesome looking animals!!!

LeAnna wanted to be a monkey ... okay cool ... so I went and found a simple pattern and some material ... however ... the "on sale" material, I found out, did not include BROWN! So ... after careful browsing the entire fabric department for much longer than I really wanted to, I decided that if she wanted to be a monkey, she was going to have to be a cheap one ... so ... I bought pink material and she went as a rebel monkey - pink!

She was totally fine with this news ... she's all about pink! And ... I found a fake banana for her to carry ... cool.

Everyone had a great time Sunday morning and we judged by secret ballot - which is by far the best way to vote in a kids contest!!! Let me tell you! Worked out perfect!

So ... anyhoo ... she didn't win, which was totally okay with me ... being the Sunday School director it always looks rigged if your kid wins anything ... I have been known to "draw another name" when hers was drawn (even though it was drawn in fairness) ... oh well ... my weirdness!

So ... LeAnna was back to school today! Thanks goodness!!!!! I LOVE being with LeAnna - don't take me wrong ... BUT, I am SO used to her being in school that ... well ... I was ready for her to go back to school today!

I had a two hour conference call that I had to take minutes for ... so ... yes ... very happy she was back to school!!!!

This morning ... Princess started growling something horrible ... she was in the foyer ... I walked to the foyer to see "what was up" ... when I rounded the corner, she was slowly moving up the stairs and started barking her head off ... for a second I got scared and thought - what in the world did she see, is someone up there?! THEN I saw what she was barking at ....

I started laughing ... guess she thought someone should be in those shoes and she was looking for them!

Good protection dog ... good girl... although - once an intruder decided to give her any attention at all, they would learn that she would probably lay down, roll over, and expect them to rub her tummy with their gun! ha!

oh well ...

A Tuesday Gone Bad ...

I decided a long time ago ... that Tammy would never start a diet on a Monday!

I've always said ... I would only begin a diet on a Tuesday ... (mental thing with me - I guess in my pea-brain thinking ... "why would I want to be a failure on a Monday morning?!")

So mentally - I tell myself, "ah, wouldn't have done it today anyway - so let's push for tomorrow attitude, by then (Tuesday) I would have the will power needed ... and that my friends is where I came up with a "diet should start on a Tuesday"

... like some colossal power was going to surge through my fat hinder parts and give me the boost I need to stick to a diet - and Tuesday seems like a good time for this to happen!

So ... today being Tuesday - I woke up with the colossal boost determination stemming from my hinder parts ... AND did GREAT!!!!

... for breakfast!

Then ...

lunch happened!

ha!

Let's look together at the word "diet" ... shall we?

in reference to the good ol' dictionary ... I found the following definition ...

... "to follow a restricted pattern of eating or drinking in order to lose weight"

sounds good ... right?!

RRRIIGGHHHTTTTT .... On paper maybe!!!!!

The MOMENT my ears hear and brain processes "restricted intake" - it takes on a spirit of rebellion!

So ... okay ... back to "Tuesday" (morning) ...

Went well ... breakfast was good, healthy, and if I were ... say ... counting points as if I were on ... say ... Weight Watchers ... I would have been dead-on for a good point breakfast!

I was feeling good ... I even exercised (walked up the steps to the computer) - every little bit helps!

So ... LeAnna woke up not feeling well this morning and felt warm ... took her temp - 100.2 ... no school for her today!

And ... I'm very use to her being at school during the day while I work and not accustomed to helping her "find things to do" while home!

So ... I finally agreed to run her to blockbuster for a movie ... first of all - No - the TV is not my babysitter ... but today - I started a new project for work and HAD to have some devoted concentration ... and I really needed help ... so ... we went to blockbuster.

Okay ... on the way ... my car turned left into the shopping center that houses Blockbuster (which just so happens to be right beside the gym) ... I love participating in cheering on the people on the treadmills, sweat pouring, running their guts out - while on the other side of the glass - giving my nod of support with a "you can do it" smile ... yes ... does my heart good to be of such encouragement to my fellowman!

anyhoo ...

On this little trip ... my stomach developed another definition of "diet" that my brain had not thought of yet ...

"I am going to DIE if I don't EAT" .... don't you get that out of "diet"? ... the word DIE is in there for sure!

Anyhoo ... so pulling out of blockbuster, admiring the little people in the gym, I stop at Rite-Aid for Triaminic for LeAnna ... just so happens ... Mr. Happy Manager put 4 grocery carts of Halloween candy at the front of the store and lured me by saying ... 75% and more off!!!! Which brought my "last week bought bag of candy of $4-$6 down to .79 cents per bag"

Okay ... attention getting for the starved impulse buyer that just entered the store - hoisted by the overwhelming hinder part boost that I received this morning!

Yikes!

What were they thinking?! Thanks Mr. Happy Manager!

Yep ... HAD to buy candy - it looks so cute in my leaf platter - all those little bite size jewels sitting on my kitchen table!

Then ... made it to the van ... only to have something horrible happen to me ...

I was supposed to make a right turn out of the parking lot to head home ... instead ... the devil turned my car wheels pointing across the street ... and low and behold ... McDonalds!

Yep ... that's right folks ... McDonalds happened ...

I am so ashamed to admit this ...

dumb ol' devil made me do it!

might as well blame it on him right?!

NO ... it's MY fault ...

Crazy - dumb me! Yep ... it was a losing battle today ... and all before flippin' LUNCH!!!!!!

How crazy dumb is that?!

Anyhoo ... I have made the quiet inner decision to ponder "Wednesday" as being my official start day for a diet from now on ... that way I have TWO whole days to get psyched for it!

That my friend ... was a "moment" in my life that happened today - on a Tuesday!

I'm praying for Wednesday to begin and end much better ...

and ... in honor of this day ... I'm posting a to die for recipe ... I got it from a friend and Mom made it at work today and said it was a very big hit!!! Yes ... I tried some (might as well) and it was delish!

okay ... so not a very faithful blogger the past few days ...

don't really care to talk about it ...

moving on ...

Anyhoo ...

Friday I went by the school early to pick up LeAnna ... had to take a picture of the "monkey of the week" as promised for the teacher.

Immediately I get a hug from a previous mentioned young man who is still waiting for my answer to his marriage proposal ... he hugged me so tight as if to say "pick me, pick me" ... of the three who asked me one day! ha! too cute

anyhoo ... then vying for my attention "bachelor #2" says,

"you wanna see my new backpack?" (hmmm, showing off his worldly goods)

I say ... "sure" (not wanting to hurt his feelings, I sound real interested)

then he says ... "can you take my picture with my new backpack?" (oh boy, conceited)

THEN ...

he says ... "do you wanna see my squishy pants?"

I replied, "WHAT?"

he repeats ... "do you wanna see my squishy pants?" (okay - yikes)

again, not wanting to hurt his feelings, I say, "sure" (nervous laugh to back this up)

he pulls out of his backpack one nice pair of squishy pants ...

my reply ... "oh, how nice ... those are really cool squishy pants"

then ... he says ... "you see this zipper?" (it started at the ankle) "watch this" (as he unzips it all the way to the waist) "isn't that cool?"

my reply ... "ah, yes ... that is very cool" (thinking - what in the world for?!)

THEN he says ... "do you know why I have these?" (afraid to ask, but go ahead and tell me)

I reply ... "no, why do you have those really cool squishy pants that unzip clear up to Christmas!"

he says ... "so if I pee in my underwear, I can get out of them RRREEAALLL quick!" (oh boy)

then he says ... "yeah, I've got to remember to bring new underwear to school" (oh my - accident has already happened apparently"

(oh well ... I think bachelor #2 is out of the picture)

oh well ...

So ... we get home Friday afternoon ... and LeAnna decides to play in her new car ... (Nana made an "on sale/good deal" purchase for CHRISTMAS (rriiiggghhhttt) and somehow she got it early ... (I think the excuse was "if I wait till Christmas, it'll be Spring before she gets to ride it!) okay ... whatever ... anyhoo ... now LeAnna has as many riding things as we have vehicles in the driveway ... her "jeep" is for "when friends come over - they'll have something to ride too" (always thinking of others)... and the 4-wheeler ... well ... loves it BUT can only ride it with Daddy ... way too big for her right now by herself ... and this is all justification?!

rrriiiggghhhtttt ... oh my goodness ... anyhoo ...

I took some pics of her playing ... Princess decided to take a spin too!

here ... I said ... (when she wasn't cooperating with a smile "non-cheesy") ... just think about Jaden! ... then this dreamy look splattered all over her face ...

THEN ... she got the giggles!

oh well ... got a cute smile out of her ... and it was nice to hear her laughter on a brisk fall day ... I totally enjoyed taking a few minutes to sit in the middle of the driveway, watching the leaves fall and take a few pics while LeAnna played all around me.

nice ...

You know what? It's late ...

Well ... the doc appointment on Monday posed some good news ... there is a surgery available that could possibly stabilize the issues I'm having right now ... but, it comes with pros and cons ... so I've got to weigh it all out and make a decision ...

but for now ... for the next two weeks ... I am supposed to be calm, no sudden movements, no bending, no pulling, no heavy lifting, sleep elevated, stay stress free and I guess think some type of happy thoughts about all of this! ha!

oh well ...

The surgery is ultimately my decision, and of course it's all I'm thinking about right now ... after his description of what he would do while in surgery and that it would take anywhere from a little over an hour to several hours to perform ... well ... let's just say I'm one big ball of "nerves" right now!

Nathan went with me to the appointment ... and at one point he said to the doctor, "you shouldn't be telling her all of this right now - she won't sleep!"

Hahahahahahahah ... (understatement)

anyhoo ...

life goes on ... right?!

So ... LeAnna is smitten right now ...

... we are so proud of her that she is writing words that she is spelling on her own and starting to write sentences ... BUT ... we didn't think the first few sentences she would write would be LOVE LETTERS TO JADEN!

Ahhh ... yep! She even made the statement the other day ... "I would just faint if I picked up the phone and Jaden was on it"!

oh my goodness!!!!

yep ... smitten ... the little, itty-bitty, tiny-weenie, love bug is flying ...

My swatter is out, but I'm not swatting ... because, right now - it's cute! So innocent and sweet ... if ONLY it could stay that way!!!!

oh well ...

LeAnna was SO happy this morning ... she couldn't wait to get to school ... her teacher was back from a seminar (she was out Monday and Tuesday and a substitute was in her place). LeAnna was SO worried on Monday morning about the "substitute" ... it was the first thing out of her mouth when she woke up ... but once she got there - all was well ...

Of course, LeAnna noted everything that Ms. Lee did different from Ms. Green and came home telling us about it ...

It was definitely a big enough deal to her that she felt it necessary to make a mental noted comparison in Ms. Green's absence.

I am so happy that LeAnna loves her teacher. Sure helps me out!

The Last Hoo-Rah!

Friday was LeAnna's last hoo-rah as a cheerleader ... there was a big pep rally for the last home game on Friday night ...

All the girls were so excited ... I went by myself, so I took more video than pictures ... but here are a couple ...

She had a great time and enjoyed playing her role in rooting on the Eagles!

This weekend was very busy and in the middle of it all - LeAnna had a great fall! ha! that rhymed! However, the fall wasn't a very big "ha" ... it was a very big "AH"! She was playing at Nana's and tripped on a rug and fell into the corner of a door facing which knocked her backwards ... quite a scare for a few minutes ... she ended up with a huge knot about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide across her forehead ... she's fine, but it's going to leave a nice mark ... "another" mark to go along with the one on her cheek! I'm sure there will be plenty more to come!

I have an eye doc appointment today ... not jumping up and down about this ... very much so anticipating the outcome this afternoon ...

It Was A Short Walk On This Red Carpet ...

We had a church/community trunk-or-treat fall fest at our church last night ...

... a bonfire where we cooked our own dinner (mine was slightly cold, fire was too hot to get too close!)

... sang songs around the fire (kids sang one or two, the adults sang one)

... a gentleman in our church spoke for about 5 minutes

... the kids got "treated" from all the trunks

... and there was a hayride

All in all, it was a good evening.

Here are a few pics ...

Nate and I rolled out the red carpet for our customers and he had show tunes playing on the iPod ... we gave out popped popcorn in small bags and then microwave bags of popcorn and candy for their treat bags ... I set up a tripod and my camera at the end of the red carpet to take pictures and showcase the "stars" who walked the carpet for their "treats" ... a few people got asked "who they were wearing" (vera wang, ralph lauren, etc. - ha!) ... most of the responses were "huh?" ... ha! oh well ... we were just trying to stick with the theme! All in fun ...

Kaitlyn and LeAnna "showcasing"

you'll never guess who LeAnna was ...

yep! a cheerleader!

Dawson was a "knight" ... looks like he just rescued him a cheerleader in this picture!
