Basic G The Piggy Away ...

If you need Basic G ... to keep things sanitized and help the Piggy Flu stay away from your home - let me know!!!

If you don't know what Basic G is ... contact me for more info ... it's a Shaklee product - that is the comparison to what Bleach does ... however, it does MUCH MORE!!!

When you clean with bleach, it's only active on the surface you clean it with for 1 hour - then it's gone! Basic G, however, stays on the surface you clean for 3 days!!!

Very powerful stuff ... even kills the AIDS virus ...

WOW!!! It convinced me a LONG time ago!!! LOVE IT!!!! USE IT ... ALL THE TIME!!!

Yep ... I'm a believer in Basic G!

Get you some ... contact me if you want some!

thankful ...

Had to stop ... and just be thankful today ... thankful for the little things ... thankful for taking the time to do the little things ... thankful that I'm "able" ... thankful that "I can" ...

thankful that I took a few minutes extra to make lunch a little more special ... just because I need her to know that I care and not everything is "in a rush" or "in a hurry"

(mini peanut butter sandwiches)

Thankful that I didn't say "no" when she asked if she could PLEASE help me make the cake ... knowing it would have been much easier for me to just rush and do it myself ... I'm thankful I said yes and "took the time" to have "a moment" ...

This week, at a glance, I noticed LeAnna moving her shoulders and face around some - so I looked again (just enough to constitute more than a glance) and noticed her eyebrows moving up and down, her face contorting somewhat and eyes darting back and forth, and every once in a while I would hear an "sss" sound or "puh" sound... which caused me to STARE ... she NEVER noticed me staring ... for a second I thought "what in the world?" ... then noticed she was reading a book, I realized she was "using expression" ... ha! Too cute ... but VERY noticeable ... using expression in her reading is one thing she's noted on while reading to us and then we turn in a weekly report of "how she's doing" ... we've been doing this all year ... cool to see her develop a love for reading ...

it was just fun to watch her doing this ... totally lost in her book ... but instead of keeping the excitement of the book on the inside - she brought it to life on the outside ...

- very thankful for her love of reading and "just because she wants to" responses instead of "do I have to?"

My word-of-the-month "volunteer" has definitely been put into action ... NOT in all the ways I had originally imagined or thought I might "try" and volunteer ... oh well ... it was funny to see how it all turned out this month with that word being the focus ... "volunteer" found its way to me without me going out and looking! ha! That really happens alot - I guess I just gave my tasks a name this month ...

anyhoo ... there were days this month (including today - while I was sitting at school for 2 hours AGAIN this morning) that I thought I just can't be doing this ... however, my "word" over-powered me and I had to stop and be thankful that I'm able to volunteer ... I have a job that is flexible, I have the resources and so ... I can't complain ... even though I might have to stay up late tonight, just to get my list checked off ... I just had to stop today and be thankful that I could act on my word ... which in turn - made me realize - I'm fulfilling my 2009 goals to focus on working on me this year ...

I did several things this month that was a sacrifice, but it was mainly just my "time" ... and the reward? The satisfaction of knowing that I helped someone and expected nothing in return (and knowing, and fully aware that it would have been easier to gripe about it at times - focusing on the "thought" of what I'm actually doing this year ... helped me to enjoy it and smile (most of the time) - ha! (still working on me =0) ... )

Very cool ...

So far ... I've Created, looked for Happy, Reflected and Volunteered ... I'm anxious to see what May's word is ...

happy day ... and WASH YOUR HANDS!!! The Piggy Flu is in Nashville! Harding Academy found 1 case and shut down for 1 week! So ... wash the piggy away!

Once You Learn ... You'll Always Know ...

Another "First" ...

LeAnna learned to ride her bike without training wheels today!

For whatever reason, we haven't taken the time to just "take off the wheels" ...

but today ... Nate and LeAnna were washing the van and LeAnna said, "Dad, I want to ride my bike now" ... he said, "ok, how about we take off those training wheels" ... she said, "ok" ...

... that was easy! LeAnna doesn't like change UNLESS she knows every detail of how it's going to work or turn out ... so ... probably the reason it's been put off until now ... her motto has been (with several things) "let's do it next summer" ... or "how about the end of the summer"
and ... in 5 minutes ... she was doing it herself!

Woo-Hoo!!!

I had a crazy weekend ... and it wore me out (getting old) ... plus I worked like crazy all day today and I was just worn out ... so I had laid down to take a short nap ... when all of a sudden, the phone is ringing, yelling is coming from outside, knocks on the window of our bedroom (I was in "deep nap") ... it startled me ... and I jumped up ... ran outside ... and to my surprise ...

LeAnna jumped on her bike and took off!

I started clapping and then ran in the house and got the camera!

I was so very proud of her ...

It was VERY worth getting up for!

Very cool ... AND ... one of "those things" that once you learn - you'll always know!

2 2 6 1 5 Finished His Course ...

We're Home!

He Did It!!!!!

2 hours, 45 minutes ... 13.1 miles

He went 15 minutes over the goal he had set for himself ... but the heat and 30,000 people had to be taken into consideration ...

He did AWESOME!!!! "Team Nate" was there to cheer him on (David, LeAnna, Tammy) at the half way mark (6 miles) ...

and "Team Nate" was there at the finish line too - (David, LeAnna, Thomas, Renee and Tammy)

What an accomplishment!

The Victory Drink was better on his head than in his mouth!

However ... he's extremely tired and hurting all over ... but he's SO glad he did it!!! He said the last 3 miles was horrible ... but crossing the finish line was worth it!

On a sad note ... about 40 minutes before he hit the finish line ... we witnessed a participant being taken into the medic tent ... they were doing CPR when they arrived with him ... young guy ... they worked on him for about 10 minutes and then took him by ambulance to the hospital ... I'm so afraid we witnessed his death ... they could never get him to respond ... it was absolutely horrible to watch - we were praying for him ... I can't stop thinking about it ... horrible!

It's a busy rest of the day for me ... I have clients this afternoon and tomorrow ... busy weekend!

YEA NATE!!!!!! We're SO Proud of you!!!!!

Well ... tomorrow is the BIG day!!!

Nate's running the Country Music City Marathon ...

He's ready ... (we think) ...

Here was tonight's dinner ...

(grilled chicken, pasta and sweet potato) and he will be up and eating at 5am in the morning, a couple of hours before the race ...

Here's his number ...

You can go to the website and track him and see his progress throughout the race ... he has a "chip" that he will be wearing on his shoe that will track him ...

The following is an excerpt from the site:

LiveResults offers exclusive coverage of every runner’s progress with times recorded at the 5k, 10k, and 10-mile marks for all runners and the marathoners will also have times recorded at the 13.1 and 20 mile marks. I'll be there with the camera ... but with 30,000 runners, not sure how many pics I'll be able to get ... hoping for at least a few!

It's an exciting time and we are very proud of Nate's perseverance in getting to this point!

Yea! Go Nate!!!!!

"hopefully" I can post pics here tomorrow after the race!

This is OUR turf ...

Here they are ... and they're letting Cocoa know that he's on "their" turf!

Babysitting is going good ... he's going to potty very good outside for me ... let's just keep our fingers crossed that he continues to be this easy to potty train!

On another note ... my great aunt (my grandmother's sister) Janie Lewis, passed away last night. She was a sweet lady and I remember going to her house a lot with my grandmother, playing with my cousins (Janie's grandkids) and her always smiling and laughing. She bought me my first pair of what I called "high heels" at age 8 ... she was always small and petite and dressed very young and in the latest styles ... even up until she went into the nursing home ... she LOVED shoes! And had a pair for every outfit! (it seemed) ... she was a sweet lady ...

Her funeral is Friday morning ... with the viewing Thursday evening ... so ... LOTS on the agenda the next few days ... with pictures, hospital visit, baking for the funeral ... and 100 more things to do ... and then Saturday and Sunday is FULL to capacity with Nate's marathon and clients both days ... whew! tired already!

Thank goodness it's "supposed" to be good weather ... fingers are still crossed on that one!

And They Meet ... for the first time ...

Well ... babysitting kicked in for me starting yesterday ... the new baby's momma had to go to work ... so ... that left me, Princess and Daisy to check in on Cocoa ...

He wasn't too traumatized by Princess and Daisy ... I think they like him ... however ... Daisy growled a few times ... I imagined she was letting him know that SHE was the baby NOT him ... hmmm ... she should be careful ... he MIGHT end up being her boyfriend! yikes! He's so little right now ... we'll just have to see ...

Anyhoo ... I made an attempt at taking pictures ... and I thought taking pictures of 3 children together could be difficult at times ... hmmm ...

checking him out ...

and ... my most favorite picture ... gotta have this one in large print for my wall!

A Renaissance Kind Of Day ...

He's finally here ... he arrived in Nashville Friday afternoon and to his new home last night ...

His name is Cocoa Snuggles Johnson ... but will go by Cocoa ...

He is a cutie and we've all given our fair share of lovin' to him!

He had his first visit to the doctor this morning to get checked out ... and he weighed in at 4 lbs ... They said he must have been the runt, because he's a bit smaller than he should be at this age ... He is just a ball of fur and I think if we cut all his hair off he would disappear! =0)

Here's a few pics ...

Today was the Renaissance Fair at school ... LeAnna had a blast! She played in the sand ... got her face painted ... ate at the Queen's Tea ... and whatever else her, Kaitlyn, and some of their school friends could find to do!

at the Queen's Tea for Mom's and their daughers ...

Nate found him some "turkey leg" at the fair!

After the fair ... Kaitlyn came home with LeAnna and boy were they filthy from playing so hard!!! I promised them manicures and pedicures if they would take LONG baths to get rid of the "renaissance"!

I had a gazillion things on my agenda today which included clients today and getting ready for more tomorrow ... so while I was checking things off my list - they obliged and I rewarded ...

they REALLY enjoyed this! They have done this a couple of times before ... but this time they got to use the salon chair massagers and they thought that was VERY cool!

A VERY busy day ... but enjoyable ...

Bird Update ...

I have to say ... I'm pretty sad ... actually I was so upset this morning when I found it ... I went over to Mom's to check on the status of the birds ... and to my dismay they were gone ... we're not sure what got them ... but whatever it was, clawed the flower pot they were sitting up in until dirt fell all around on the deck and the nest was widened and empty ... it made me sick - to know that something got them and I'm sure, ate them ... AAHHHH!!!! Just horrible ... I was so sad ... poor Momma Bird ... lost all 6 of her babies ... I HOPE the Momma Bird flew away before "whatever it was" got her ... we have spotted wild coyotes in the subdivision before ... but really not sure what got them ... very disturbing to me ...
Anyhoo ... all I could think of was ... "His eye is on the sparrow ... and I know He watches me ..."

How much more right? If God cares for those itty, bitty, helpless, eyes not even open yet, defenseless birds ... how much more He cares about me!

Wow!

I love tangible realizations!

happy day ... tammy
