I Am So Hot ...

Good Morning …

The funniest thing happened last night on the way to Clarksville ….

LeAnna was in her seat … content … singing with the radio …

All was well for about 10 minutes … then she said , “I’m hot”!

So … I turned up the air.

About 2 minutes later she says … “I’m still SO hot!”

I turned it up again and I told her to look up in the ceiling and see if it was coming out right … she did …

Still hot …

So … I said come up to one of the seats behind me and buckle in there.

She did … but … still hot …

I turned around and looked at her … her face was SO red! I felt so bad for her … I got to thinking maybe she was sick or something!

I said … “do you feel okay?” … she said , yes, I’m just so hot!

So … against my better judgment … I told her to come stand by me … she stood there a few seconds and then leaned over in between the seats with her head down …

I said … “baby, are you okay? – are you sick … do you feel bad”?

She said … “yes, Mommy – I’m just so hot!”

So I turned all the blowers on her … and she said, “Aahhh … that feels so good” … her cheeks were SO red … I thought my goodness – what in the world …

So after a couple of minutes … I told her to go back and sit down on one of the seats behind me again – that it was just too dangerous for her to be standing there.

WELL …

All of a sudden – I felt heat on my back side … and I thought … oh know … I must have hit the button for the heater in the seat … I looked down and the button wasn’t on …

I thought … hhhmmm … that’s odd … why am I so hot on my backside?

I reached my hand around to the back of my seat … and it was SUCH a dramatic temperature difference! I still couldn’t figure it out!

Okay … I’ll admit … I haven’t taken the time (had the time really) to learn all the little features on our new van …

I fiddled with the knobs once again for the back of the van … but this time … NOTICED that I had the heat on instead of the air for the back … and all this time had been turning it up higher and higher … until finally it was full blast heat!

Oh My Goodness!!! My Poor Baby … She was in a Sauna! I felt SO bad!!!!

Okay … so I immediately turned it to COLD and started apologizing to LeAnna … I told her what had happened … and reminded her that the night before, she was SO cold on the way home and wanted the air off … and knowing that even “off” it continues to blow “some air” … so I turned it to warm (I thought) so it wouldn’t blow cold. She gave me the most pitiful look she could conjure up - you know the “Oh, Poor Pityful Me” one … yeah – she milked it! And I did feel bad! Especially looking at the temp on the dashboard and it’s like 90 outside!

Bless her heart … I was laughing at myself – thinking how dumb is that! … and you know me lately!

Oh well … just another day in the life!

Okay ... so ... last night on the way home this is the conversation I heard in the van from LeAnna, her cousin Dawson and her friend Kaitlyn:

Dawson: Hey you know what? My uncle and aunt are having a baby
LeAnna: Are they getting married again?
Dawson: No, they're already married
LeAnna: Oh ... well ... they just got married?
Dawson: Yeah
LeAnna: Oh ... well ... I'm wanting my Mommy and Daddy to get married again too
Dawson: Why?
LeAnna: Cause I want a baby sister
Kaitlyn: LeAnna - you already have a sister - Princess
Dawson: Well I have Nemo and Spencer but they're not my brothers ... only Jackson is my brother
Kaitlyn: Well she can act like it's her sister ... I don't think Tammy and Nathan are going to get married again.
LeAnna: Well they can and I want them too - because I want a baby sister
Kaitlyn: Well, I think you can get married again even though you're already married ...
LeAnna: Yes, you can - that's how you have a baby
Dawson: How?
LeAnna: To get married - that's how you have babies ...
Dawson: Oh

Oh My ... aren't they great?!?!?!

Happy Friday … as I leave you with this REALLY cool “observation” …

I noticed something for the first time Monday and then again on Wednesday … LeAnna loves to sing while she colors … and Monday afternoon she was just singing so pretty and all of a sudden I heard her “attempting” to use vibrato in her voice … it was SO stinkin’ cute! She was really having to “over do-it” at first …. But then she sort of caught on and it actually sounded pretty good. She did this with no help … I was proud of her! At 4, one of many first steps in developing her voice.

Run Nate ... Run ...

Good Morning ...

W O W ! Yesterday was busy ... just now getting a "quick moment" to breathe ...

Our district Camp Meeting started last night and it goes through Friday night in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Plocks (spelling?) out of Memphis who does "Goobers Place" ... are doing the children's stuff at night ... LeAnna has watched some of their videos at "Granny's house" and loves them! So she was excited ... but a little nervous about going to an unfamiliar place and being there alone without me or Daddy ... so ALL day (literally) she asked if I would "accompany her" to "Goobers Place" last night ... but I had to sing at the first part of service so I told her that when I was finished I would come down there and sit with her - this seemed to make her feel better ... BUT then she kept asking if I was sure I was coming down there afterwards. SO ... I did ... I went down there as soon as I was finished and walked in and sat down right behind her ... she got up, came and whispered in my ear ... "Mom, I'm okay by myself ... I need you to leave now" .... Okay cool ... As long as she's okay, I'm okay!

So on my way back down the hallway - I missed the BIG, red "Exit sign" and walked past it and into a room (I thought was the way to the steps), shut the door - it was dark and I thought, who in the world would turn the light off ... so I turned it on ... turned around and there was no door with steps ... DUH! I was in a classroom! Oh my ... this is my life ALL the time!!!! I just laughed (out loud) at myself, opened the door, turned the light back off and went and found the BIG, red "Exit sign" and ushered my self back upstairs.

OH well ...

SO ... after service we went to McDonalds to eat and then had to drive home ... about an hour (although I think I made it in 45 mintues) ...

got all of LeAnna's stuff together for today ... today is "Water Day / Pizza Day - Last day of Summer school" ... so there was a page of instructions that had to be followed ... So "Thank God" I stayed up and got all of this together ... I went to bed around 1:30am ... and Nate "seemed to not be asleep" ... SO ... we had a conversation ... simple question and answer conversation ... "during" that conversation I asked him to set the alarm ... he said, "what time?" ... I replied "7:30" ... he said, "okay" ....

8:55 the phone rings ...

Yes ... school starts at 9:00 ...

SO ...

Superwoman kicked in and I got her to school at 9:20 .... OH MY GOODNESS!!!

Oh well ... nothing was happening yet ... so she didn't miss much ... =)

Notice in the picture ... she's "not quite awake" and her breakfast is in her hands!

OH ... Yes ... almost forgot! UPS rang our doorbell yesterday ... and it was a "special" delivery for Nathan Batson ... from the Nike Store ... Nate had went to the Nike website and "CREATED/DESIGNED" his very own Nike Shox shoes!

Well ... what do they say about curiosity?! Ha! Anyhoo ... yes, I opened the box ....

And this is what I found ... =)

Oh yeah ... and you can also put ANYTHING you want on the back of them ... Alrighty then ...

So ... to me ... this is not a "Nathan Batson shoe" .... but he LOVES them ... says they're the most comfortable shoe ever ... etc ...

Sorry Nate ... not making fun ... just having fun with you! =)

They're great .... really ...

Happy Thursday ... as I leave you with this really cool quote I heard Paula Deen make the other day ...

A "Little Conversation" ...

Good Morning ...

LeAnna had a sleep-over last night with her friend Kaitlyn ... Last night we went to Nana's house and played for a bit and then came home and they watched the Muppets before going to bed.

I can't believe I actually woke up before they did this morning! I TRIED to go back to sleep, to no avail! OH well ... =)

SO ... I thought ... hhmmmm, I'll surprise them and we'll go to McDonalds for breakfast!

Okay - so - they didn't fuss at all! Can you believe it?

We ate breakfast and then they went out and played for a bit on the playground ...

Coming out of the house this morning, I heard LeAnna tell Kaitlyn, "oh no, my Mom's got her puzzle with her!" ... ha! Yes, I Sudoku ... and I played Sudoku while they played on the playground! =) It's relaxing to me ... it's all about the numbers ... and you only have to focus on numbers 1-9 ... and I think about nothing else except number 1-9 ... So ... Yes ... to me ... it is relaxing not to think about anything else!!! Crazy ... I know ... but hey ... we all have our "oddity's" and that's what makes the world go around - right?! =)

Okay ... So ... I LOVE listening to "little conversation" .... what I mean by that is ... conversations held by little people under the age of ... let's say 6 .... =)

So ... this morning ... this is the conversation I heard between LeAnna and Kaitlyn ...

Kaitlyn: oohhh what's this?
LeAnna: that's my Dad's shaver
Kaitlyn: oh ... my Dad don't shave his face anymore ... well ... only sometimes ... just when it gets lots of hair ... but he only shaves his legs now, not his face ... and my Mom does too.
LeAnna: oh ... well sometimes when my Dad gets in the shower he puts hump cream on his face
Kaitlyn: what's that?
LeAnna: that white stuff on your face you shave
Kaitlyn: oh

I was dying ... first of all - finding out that Thomas shaves his legs "now" and not his face! ha! and secondly ... since LeAnna was about a year old and just starting to talk she has always called whipped cream (which is one of her favorite things to snack on) - "hump cream" ... we're not sure how she arrived at this, other than just "trying" to say whipped cream ... anyhoo ... it stuck and to this day, she still calls whipped cream "hump cream" ... okay so ... she thinks that Daddy shaves with "hump cream" ... =)

Funny ... funny ...

I just LOVE kids! They are SO cool .... so innocent, so free ... not really any worries - other than, "who's going to be first" or "which game will we play first" ... etc ...

And LeAnna gets SO excited when someone comes over ... especially Kaitlyn ... they have so much fun and play together so well.

So ... Happy Tuesday, as I leave you with this little thought ...

Inhaling Life ...

Howdy friends and neighbors ...

Whew ... long day already! I had a doctors appointment this morning ... got some news ... not sure whether to say it's exciting or not "yet" ... my doctor is taking me off the insulin pump in about 2 months ... I am "so totally for" the insulin pump ... so this is going to be an adjustment for me ... there is something new, that has been recently approved by the FDA ... it's an insulin inhaler ... it's release date is for August ... so it's REALLY new ... I will be my doctor's 1st patient to use it ... so yep, once again, the guinea pig ... so ... I will be taking one shot a day that will last for 24 hours and then whenever I eat, I will "inhale" with the inhaler ...

hhmmm ...

Curious ... very curious ... I'm supposed to be reading up on it and getting "familiar" before September ...

Yikes! So ... it could be a VERY good thing ... or it could be a "not so" good thing ... we'll see ... If it works, I won't have to wear the pump ... and I don't mind just one shot a day ...

Who knows ... might be too good to be true!

So ... Princess got her stitches out today! FINALLY!!! Whew ... glad that ordeal is over with!

And the perm ... well ...

I'll let you know in a couple of days ...

This morning (1st washing) ... my hair came out in clumps in the shower! My hair was also in knots - that's never happened before! So ... hoping it "calms" a little more and I don't lose any more hair! Of course, I don't mind if all the "gray" decides to fall out! ha! It definitely took, but my goodness after three perms, I would hope so ... just hope it's not "over done" ... If I go bald, I might need to borrow "someone's wig"! ha!

LeAnna is having a sleepover tonight ... she is very excited! At least that will give her someone to play with tomorrow while I'm on the computer all day ... =)

Happy Monday ... as I leave you with another "Tammodity" ...

To Curl Or Not To Curl ...

Good Afternoon ...

So ... today I had an appointment at the salon for a perm ... haven't had one in a while ... the lady is very good - she's the owner and does a really good job everytime I go ...

Anyhoo ... I'm sitting there - she got my whole head rolled and handed me a bottle to shake ... then she started using that one and asked me to shake another bottle and also handed me a small tube of "something"... but that's all she said ... "shake this bottle" ...

Okay ... so ... she gets all the solution on and is washing her hands and I handed her the small tube of "whatever" and she goes ... "ah, you didn't mix it with the bottle?" ... I'm like, ah, no - you said, "here, shake this bottle" ... oh my ... so two perms already on my head and no "activator"!!!! Yikes ... so she seemed frustrated with me ... but it wasn't my fault ... anyhoo ... she goes to the back to get another perm and has to mix the activator ... so at this point she's putting 3 perms on my head!!!! Yack!!! She says, it will be okay ... SO ... "trusting" the lady ... I said okay ... all the while imagining myself as Bozo the clown!!! ha!

THEN ... my forehead started to burn, so she said "get you a little water and dab on your head where it burns" ... okay ... so ... remember, I can't see NOTHING without my glasses ... I reach over and try to turn the water on (without any instruction - mind you), not knowing that you're supposed to hold the sprayer when you turn the water on ... oh my... next thing I know, the sprayer is going crazy - it sprayed her, me and all down the side of her mirrored cabinets!!! She stands there with her mouth open, makes this faint "I can't believe you just drenched me noise" in her throat ... and I start apoligizing ... I'm like ... okay ... only me ... only me ... I tried explaining at that point that I can't see anything without my glasses and can't really hear that well either without them ... I finally just hushed ... there was nothing I could do about it.

Oh well ... Just a day in the life ...

So ... we'll see how it turns out ... for now - it's VERY curly ... but it will calm down some when I wash it ...

Me and my salon experiences!!!! If it's going to happen, it's going to happen to me!

Okay ... so ... Happy Saturday as I leave you with this thought ...

Cake and Roller Skates ...

Good Morning ...

Yesterday was our nephew, Dawson's birthday ...
he had a party at Circus World last night ...
Fun ... Fun ...
Here's a few pictures ...
LeAnna Loves her cousin Dawson!

There were a LOT of people at the party ... however,

pictured are the few that heard the word "cake"!

This is LeAnna hearing the word "pose" amongst all the noise around her!

This was LeAnna's first time on skates!

Her and Daddy couple skated - how fun is that?!

It was a fun party ... and everyone seemed to have a great time!

Today we're going to spend some time with our family that's in from Florida ...

Plans are to go to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch ... Uuummmmmm!

Happy Friday as I leave you with this random thought ...

Mommy's A Fish ...

Good Afternoon ...
Yikes! What is this?! ha!
This is "Mommy's A Fish" face!
When LeAnna was very small and started crying, making noise or acting up in church, I would make this face and whisper in her ear "Mommy's A Fish" ...
and she would calm down!
Ha! Wonder why?! Guess I either scared her to death or she would stop to think - who in the world is this person and what is she doing?! Either way, she would calm down!
She LOVES taking pictures and every once in a while I let her "take a picture" - so we were playing with the camera this particular day and we were taking some goofy shots ... and with this picture, I was able to tell her about the "Mommy's A Fish" story ... which she LOVES hearing ANYTHING about when she was a baby!
Like it was SO long ago! ha!
Yesterday, we were on our way to church and LeAnna says, "Mom, Dad" (we have to answer at the same time - habit she has - and if you don't she asks the question over and over until you answer at the same time! - guess that's a "LeAnnaoddity" - ha!) Anyhoo ... she says, "Mom, Dad - remember a long time ago when I was three ... and yada, yada ...
Too funny ...
Okay ... so here's the "whole" picture!
Pretty Scary - huh?!
Oh Well ... Happy Thursday as I leave you with this thought ...

An Organic Tablescape ...

Good Morning ...
Yesterday LeAnna spent the day with Aunt Betty at Nana's house .... they had SO much fun!!! They played outside and also in the playhouse ... they even made an "organic" birthday cake!
The following picture is LeAnna's tablescape she created ... (I think she's been watching Sandra Lee a little too much! - ha!)

She was so excited for Nana to come home and see what they had made!

I fixed dinner last night and took it to Nana's to eat ... after dinner we all went to Bobbie's Dairy Dip for dessert! Uummm ...

I scream, you scream, we all scream!

Then we came home and spent some family time together ...

it was a nice ending to a very plesant day ...

Happy Wednesday as I leave you with this random thought ...

What's In A Name ...

LeAnna Rachel Batson

LeAnna has been asking questions about her name for the last several weeks … she wants to know why she was named her name … she wants to know what other names we were thinking of naming her … then questions “why that name” when we tell her!

She is so funny …

So … here’s what her name means to us:

LeAnna is derived from her Nana – whose name is Anna Lee … so we turned it around and came up with the name LeAnna. Although it’s not all of the letters, we removed one “e” – because we liked the look of it better.

Rachel is derived from her Granny – whose name is Rachel Charolyn.

We wanted a baby SO bad for SO long – and Nate REALLY wanted a girl … so in July of 2001 when we went to the doctor to find out if we were having a boy or girl – our Mom’s went with us and were in the room when we found out it was a GIRL! And knowing how special our Mom’s are to us – we decided to name her after them.

Her name actually means this:

LeAnna Rachel – Graceful Willow
Le – Joy
Anna – Gracious
Rachel – Little lamb, one with purity

So … when LeAnna started asking what the “other names” we considered were … I had to really stop and think … once we decided on her name – to us – it was perfect ... and we just put all the other names out of our head. So … here’s a VERY short list of what I can remember – I know there were a WHOLE lot more:

Ashton
Summer
Autumn
Faith
Brooklin

So … what’s in a name?

To Me:

L – Loving
E – Energetic
A – Active
N – Natural Beauty
N – Nifty Neat
A – Affectionate

R – Radiant
A – ALWAYS ready to go!
C – Curious
H – Happy
E – Empathetic
L – Full of LIFE!

A beautiful baby girl God gave us ... and for her we are SO thankful!

She is the BRIGHT SPOT in our day - Everyday!

I can't imagine Life without LeAnna Rachel - And to me - it wouldn't feel right to call her anything else ... So ... LeAnna - to answer your questions -

To Us - you have the perfect name that fits your perfectly.

Happy Tuesday ... tammy

Sedation, Coca Cola and Chocolate ... Sounds Like A Cure-All To Me ...

Good Evening ...

M O N D A Y .... typical "me" day ... wouldn't you know ... only "OUR" dog would be the "percentage" that has post surgical issues!!!! So - okay ... this morning I picked her up to "inspect" and gunk was bubbling out of the incision!!! Yuck, Yack, Gross, Oh My - called the Vet ... they said, "bring her in" .... SO ... we got dressed, jumped in the car and took her in ... apparently she has a "serum pouch" that has formed around her incision and has decided to ooze ... and is more irritated because she is picking at it ... they also described her breed as being a "drama queen" at times ... ha! Guess we pegged her name right! ha! AND, also suggested that she was a bit over active!!!! hahahahahahaha!!!! Okay ... if they "really" only knew ... she was like 1/4 active of what she normally is ...

SO ... treatment ... we have to keep her sedated for the next 5 days! Oh My Goodness ... the stitches are not removed until NEXT Monday ... so I'm totally okay with keeping her sedated through Friday! ha! Anyhoo ... just flipping out about all of this ... knowing all the time I shouldn't be ... because these are just dumb things that happen to me! Oh well ...

Okay ... so ... LeAnna was so B O R E D today ... bless her heart!!! She wanted to go somewhere SO bad!!!! But I had to get some work done ... Aunt Judy called around 2pm and asked if she could come over for a bit ... this made her happy and she was at the front door waiting when she arrived!!!! .........

I tried a really cool new recipe a couple of days ago ... MMmmmmm good .... it was a Paula Deen recipe (of course) ... Coca Cola Fudge Cake ... oh my goodness ... SO good ... the whole recipe was very interesting to me ... the wet ingredients (including buttermilk and coke) are brought to a boil and then added to the dry ingredients ... hhmmmm .... very interesting - different ... but good ... I think it was the texture of the cake ... because when Nathan first tried it - he was thinking "traditional chocolate cake" ... and you can't think that way ... it's hard to explain the texture of the cake ... almost custard/pudding like, but not really ... hhhmmmm ... not sure how to describe it ... but Oh Boy ... the icing is made with coke too and it was SO good ...

I would definitely make it again ... not the best dessert I've ever put in my mouth ... but was something "different" for a change ... which was nice.

So if you want the recipe let me know ... =)

It's All About Blue and Being Two ...

Good Late Evening - Early Morning ...

Yes ... I'm still up ... busy day, long day ... trying to unwind ...

Okay ... so ... this afternoon (Saturday) - we went to a birthday party for our friends, Mike and Lisa Kellogg's little boy - Jake ... who is turning two! It was a Blue's Clues Party at the Rainbow Room in Franklin. I took pictures of the party - so of course, had to share a few ... Is he not the cutest thing?! Oh My ... Too adorable!!!!

LeAnna enjoyed "eating" Blue's Clues Cake, but not speaking to Blue! Yes folks, at 4 1/2 Blue scared her! Oh My! Couldn't believe it! And once she found out it was a lady from our church dressed up as Blue, it was still hard for her to look past the costume! She finally warmed up a bit and called her Sis. Blue! ha! (they are big buddies at church, Sis. Florinda Rangel, who always has fun stickers for her) ... but not until she saw her with the costume off at the end of the party did she really "feel better" about Blue!

Okay ... so ... Princess ... bless her heart ... everyone we've talked to has said their "girl dog's" surgery went fine! Well, today makes day 3 and she's still messed up ... she cries out when she uses the bathroom and tonight we noticed her incision is swollen and very hard around it and has started oozing! So I called the 24 hour emergency # they gave us and they told us she probably has an infection and needs antiobiotics! SO - if it's not better by tomorrow, we have to take her in! Yack! So with Frazier (being a boy of course) it was a breeze ... we took him in ... snip/snip ... and when he came home it was like he laid around that evening and by the next day - fit as a fiddle! So this has been like - "what is going on?"! Anyhoo .... bless her heart - just pityful!

Okay ... yada, yada ...

Going to bed now ...

Happy a happy Sun"Day" as I leave you with this tiny message to Jake ...

"Dear Jake .... knowing first-hand what a miracle you are, it was such a joy to watch you run and play today with that unbelievable sparkle in your eyes! Thank You for allowing me, once again, to see life through the eyes of a two year old!" .... tammy

Dress-Up, Pancakes and the Blue Summer Sky ...

Good Afternoon ...

Last night we had some friends over for dinner ... the Camachos ... and Kaitlyn and LeAnna got bored and decided to "dress-up" Zachary! Bless his heart ... guess he was bored too, because he let them!!!!! Oh MY!!!!

So ... this morning ... when LeAnna woke up - we got our clothes on real fast and went to McDonalds for breakfast! She was LOVING that! Oh My! Pancake Heaven!

This picture was like the last of many and she was TIRED of posing pretty!

THEN ... we went to Toys R Us to pick up a present for a birthday party tomorrow! And on the way out ... she wanted to play on the Ship ... they have this large ship beside Toys R Us for show that has a plank you can walk up, two slides, swings, a fort underneath - tons of stuff! She LOVES it and wants Papaw to build one for church! =)
Fun ... Fun ... Summer Fun ...

I feel so bad because I work so much at the computer (since I work from home) ... so this was fun for her this morning ... And fun for Mommy too!

Happy Friday as I leave you with this really cool thought ...

LeAnna's First Patient ...

Good Morning ....

Our little patient came home last night and is doing okay ...

Last night she laid on the couch and cried! Yack ... that was horrible ...

I was supposed to feed her last night and she wouldn't eat ... she walked away from the bowl and went and tried to lay down in "her spot" and couldn't! So pityful ... So I picked her back up and laid her back on her pillow on the couch ...

This morning ... same thing ... but she did eat a little ... gave her some pain medication but she won't drink anything.

LeAnna was so sad for her that she started crying yesterday about it! Bless her heart ... I guess she was "feeling her pain" ... It's easier to be sympathetic when you've been through something yourself!

So she was off to school this morning and was VERY excited to find out that "Chicken Little" and Popcorn was on the agenda for today!!!! Woo-Hoo! No complaints this morning! ha!

So ... Happy Thursday as I'm off to work, clean, cook and take care of a little patient! ... tammy

My Perspective ...

Good Afternoon ...

"Princess ... You Are Going To Be Just Fine"

Poor baby ... she had to be there at 7 AM this morning ... they are supposed to call when surgery is over ... we still haven't heard anything ... LeAnna sure is worried about her doggie ...

Well - our family arrived A-OK and LeAnna was SO excited to pick them up at the airport! Yesterday afternoon - she wouldn't leave them alone! She had Aunt Betty playing everything from Doctor/Patient to "Water the Flower" (LeAnna was the flower and Aunt Betty was watering her with the hose pipe!) They had too much fun! And you'll never guess where she spent the night?! ha!

Today was a summer school day ... it was VERY hard for her to leave this morning - but she did fine! I know she will be ready to get back to them this afternoon!

This is "my perspective" of LeAnna! She was laying in my lap and didn't want to get up - so I told her I was going to take a picture so she could see what I was looking at! She is too funny! I remember as a little girl - my mom would lay me on the counter in the kitchen to wash my hair in the sink ... and this was her perspective of me! She used to comment how funny I looked upside down ... and it was so funny to look back at her at watch her talk upside down ... Cool Concept - You Should Try It!

So ... Happy Wednesday as I leave you with this to think about ....

Adventure Girl

Good Morning ...

The following is what I woke up to this morning:

"Mommy, Mommy, It's 7 - 5 - 6! It's 7 - 5 - 6!!! It's time to go to the airport!"

In other words - it's 7:56 AM ...

Today our Aunt Betty and Cousin Nena arrive from Florida! They are here for 3 weeks! LeAnna is SO excited she can hardly stand it!!!

She's only asked about 10 times when we're going to the airport ... so ... at 8:30 AM this morning I put her in the bathtub! ha! ... At least she thinks we're getting ready to go! Bless her heart ... we don't pick them up until 3pm!

So - yes - she's a little bit excited!!!!

Poor Princess ... her last day as a "little baby girl" ... tomorrow is Surgery Day! No food or water after 10 PM tonight and she has to be there at 7 AM in the morning!

BUT .... Nurse LeAnna is READY for her to come home so she can take care of her!!!!!

Oh My!!!! Let's hope the stitches remain in tact for at least MOST of the 10-14 days they are supposed to remain! Who knows with her though ... she's always talked about being a doctor - she has a doctor bag, lab coat with her name on it and she LOVES to play doctor ... SO ... let's all say a little prayer for Princess this week! ha! LeAnna's first "real" patient! No tellin' what will happen!

So ... LeAnna announced today that she was "Adventure Girl"! And this is her costume! ha!

What an "Adventure Girl" she is!!!!

So ... Happy Tuesday as I leave you with this ... tammy

Bikes, Planks,Construction and Opportunities...

Good Monday Morning ...

Saturday evening Daddy and LeAnna decided to ride bikes when the sun was going down ... a little late ... I think it was because it would be getting dark soon and they wouldn't have to ride long! ha! A natural thought - since we just ate dinner and were so full we could barely move!!!!

Yesterday was a GREAT day at church! We made the announcement about "Walking The Plank" at church yesterday in hopes of raising some money for the Sunday School Department ... the whole idea is this: You can nominate (with money) for someone to "walk the plank" - on Sunday, the 23rd ... which means .... the top three people nominated to walk the plank (most money under their name) will have to walk the plank into a dunking booth of water after church on the 23rd! ha! So ... I started getting bids and ended up with $610 yesterday!!!! Woo-Hoo!!!! SO ... my father-in-law stood up and said, "I think we need the ushers to come and take the offering or we won't get any today"! ha! He was kidding ... but the ushers didn't know that and they came forward! ha! Anyhoo ... lots of excitement yesterday!!!!

SO ... today ... LOTS of noise outside our home .... much to my surprise ... they decided to work on the clubhouse and pool area! ha! imagine that! It's only been since May 2nd that they started!!!!! Oh well!!! I'm in hopes that the clubhouse is done in time for LeAnna's birthday party in October!!! hahahahaha!!!! You never know with this subdivision!

Oh well ...

So ... it's Monday ...

Beginning of a new week ...

Another opportunity to either "do" or "not do" what's on your "To-Do List" this week! ...

Another opporunity to "be positive" or "be negative" ...

Another opportunity to "Make the best of it" or "Sit and complain about it" ...

Another opportunity to "Be a witness to what you believe in" or "Miss an opportunity to change someone else's life" ...

hmmm ... just a few thoughts off the top of my head today .... Happy Monday ... tammy

Dough Memories ...

Good Morning ...

So ... here's the Princess with the new doo ... "The Lamb Cut" ... Nate actually liked it!

Last night we went to dinner with Karla and DJ Shoulders and their kids - Preston and Peyton ... we went to Pie In The Sky in Cool Springs ... I LOVE that place ... and the food was very good last night! Here's the kiddos playing with "dough" at the counter, while watching them prepare "the real dough"!

So ... today ... not much on the agenda ... can you believe it?! We can't either!!! Just normal "stuff" - some cleaning, some grocery shopping, just actually spending time at home on a Saturday! WOW!!! Odd almost! ha!

Happy Saturday - as I leave you with this "Tammoddity"

"Dough ... I love dough ... any kind of dough ... I LOVE to eat it! I always have and have fond memories of eating different kinds of dough in my Mama's kitchen. I remember her telling me a story when I was a little girl (just about every time I ate dough - ha) about when she was a little girl and her Mom (Mama Neely) thought she swallowed a piece of glass ... and Mama Neely made Mom eat a bowl of dough! ha! I guess to make that glass come through a little easier!!! hahahaah! OH well ... the things we remember!" .... tammy

Lazy Day Treasures ...

Good Morning ...

Here's another pic from the week ... too cute!

Princess is at the Beauty Shop today ... getting cut REALLY short - she has surgery next week and will have stitches for 10-14 days ... so I wanted her to be cut pretty short before that... Nate's not going to be happy - but hey - it will grow out! =)

All LeAnna knows is that Princess won't be having puppies! =) Thank God - because I don't think we could handle more than one hyper Princess!!!!! And boy is she hyper!!!! Hoping that somehow this surgery will calm her some!

LeAnna's playing at her Aunt Judy's for about 2 hours today ... she SO enjoys spending time there ... she has a trinket box there and whenever she goes over to their house, LeAnna always checks the trinket box and there's always a different "treasure" in there. Today ... there was some new bracelets (napkin rings) and a charm with "Mommy's picture in it" from when I was a little girl ... and a few other things ... how fun is that?!

What special memories LeAnna bug will have to "retrieve" on a lazy day in the future - when she's thinking about "days at Aunt Judy's house"!

I know that I have my special memories that I can recall at Aunt Judy's house when I was a little girl.

Isn't it so cool ... how we are actually "quilting" a blanket of love with memories that we make today! Aaahhh ... =)

Okay ... so Happy Friday ... as I leave you with another "Tamoddity" ...

"I was reminded of this the other day by a friend who saw me doing it ... when I have to add eggs to any recipe I'm making ... I always crack the eggs into a special little bowl I have (old, mauve colored tupperware bowl) ... and beat them separately with a fork before adding them to the recipe ... not sure why I do this ... but feel like I have to ... I can't stand to just add eggs into a bowl of "mixture" without doing this ... oh well ... being different is what makes the world go around!" .... tammy

Phooey - Sign Mystery Solved ...

Good Evening ...

Okay ... so ... not sure what I was expecting them to be ... but the "nonsense signs" make "sense" to me now!

Hello - duh ... Cartoon Network!

Okay ... so I'm better for knowing ... I guess ... phooey ... what a let down!

Okay whatever ... I'm over it! ha!

So ... busy BUSY day ... finished a project that has taken me about a month to complete ... UGH! A much needed break after that .... SO ready for the weekend!

Here's a couple of pics of LeAnna I wanted to post from the 4th and Blogger wouldn't allow all of my pics at once ... so ... here's LeAnna with Daddy's hat on ...
she came walking up the driveway saying ... "I'm Nathan, I'm Nathan" ... in a weird, deep voice ... too funny!!!!

Loving these memories we're making! ... Happy - Happy .... tammy
