San Antonio ...

San Antonio was nice ... never been there - so it was nice to go somewhere "new".

But ... business is business and that was quite boring!

Anyhoo ...

Enjoyed taking in the scenery and getting some pics of an old historical city.
This was sunrise one morning from the terrace of my room ...

We decided to take a boat ride down the Riverwalk ... we stayed at the Hilton on the Riverwalk - this was our view from a lobby in the hotel ...

These were some pics taken while we were on the boat down the Riverwalk at sunset ...

some of our group ...

it was a nice time ... happy to be back home though ... busy week with the trip and LeAnna's party on Friday!

It's July 4th on October 4th ... which actually, most of the signatures were obtained on August 2nd ...

This morning ... we went for breakfast ... and then to the downtown library ... they are featuring a copy of the Declaration of Independence this weekend ... we got there just in time for the Governor's speech, interview with the press and meet and greet.

Kaitlyn spent the night with LeAnna last night ... so they got to shake hands with the governor and talk to him.

It was very nifty neat-o.

During the presentation, they reenacted everything ...

The girls also were able to catch a marionette puppet show in the children's theatre while we were there ... they had a great time today!

I am leaving for San Antonio, Texas in the morning ... business trip ... be back late Wednesday ...

This is also "birthday week" for LeAnna bug ... she will be the ripe age of 7 on Saturday the 11th ... there is a Nancy Drew Mystery Party on Friday Evening and a family party on Saturday evening ... wonder what the "prize" will be when the "case of the missing birthday present" is solved! You'll have to wait and see ... stay tuned ...

Last Cheer ...

We had a pep rally at 8am on the football field this morning!! Oh My ... a bit chilly ... but not as bad as I thought it would be ...

then another game this evening ... tonight's game was the Jr. Cheerleader's last game to cheer at ... they were sad it was over, but happy to be there ... doing their "thing" ... =0)

LeAnna and Jordan ...
Kaitlyn ... her first year at NCS and her first year to cheer ... she was excited!

Last year, Kaitlyn came out to "support" ... this year, she got to "participate".

This afternoon (whew - full day) ... LeAnna had her 7 year check up at the doctor. All is well (they always check her heart and for diabetes along with everything else) ... she weighs 45 1/2 lbs and is 43 inches tall ... the doc said she should be about 5'3'' as an adult ... (what's so funny - is she thinks this is very tall - ha ... it is compared to me I guess - oh well)

not too fashionable ... but hey ... at least the head band matched!

G O ... EAGLES!!!!!

Tonight was LeAnna's first game ...

she was very excited ... to say the least ... very hyper and couldn't sit still ...

she was so excited ... that she started laughing and couldn't stop (wonder where she gets that from?!) And what's so funny ... is that they were in the middle of their cheers and here's LeAnna just hee-hawing and doing her own thing ... oh well ... she gets it honest ...

it was a nice "cool" evening at Eagle Field ...

The Shop Is Closed ...

... happy I did it ... VERY happy it's all over with!

whew!

It's been crazy around here ... cleaning up, moving furniture back in, putting everything in its respective place ... putting out fall decor ...

on top of planning LeAnna's Mystery Party for next week ... AND getting ready to leave for a business trip on Sunday, to return 1 full day before the party ... yep ... a tad bit crazy at the moment ...

just trying to get it all done.

The consignment sale went very well ... I am pleased ... I had tons left ... but 89 outfits are going on Ebay ... and the rest ... I'll just put in the sale at church in November ... and after that ... well ... it will be donated somewhere ... I'm just needing it gone now ...

I've dealt with it ... I'm moving on ...

So here's to dealing and moving ... cheers!

To Sell ... or Not To Sell ... that is the question ... however the answer ... is .. TO SELL!!!!

and so ... it begins ...

the beginning of a VERY ... L O N G weekend ....

I've been working on this sale for days ... along with everything else I have to do ... which is too much to mention ... let's just say ... I hope I'm sane after the next couple of weeks!!!

I worked some yesterday morning on the sale ... pricing, etc. ... it's a long process, especially when you have as much stuff as I do ... then with a million other projects in between ... I started back about 3pm and went non-stop (literally) until 2:30am this morning! AAAHHHHH ... thanks to Renee who stopped by to unload her first load ... she ended up staying and helping me from about 4p-11p ... WOW!!! we got a LOT accomplished ... couldn't have done it without her!!! THANKS Renee!!!! Maybe we can "trade-out" scrapbook stuff ... ha!

a piece of advice ... thrown in "FREE" of charge today ... never ... NEVER let crazy, hormonal moments overtake you ... to where you have SEVEN years of clothes STILL overtaking not only your home, but your Mom's as well!

yep ... free ...

however ... I have a few things I will sell you ... =0)

I think the sale is pretty organized ... so far ...

...shoes all neatly in rows (hoping it stays that way) ... "pre-packaged" play sets already in zip lock bags and sized by box for easy "sort-through" for the customers ... all the clothes are in size order (thanks to the help of my handy-dandy size rings I picked up) ... LOVE THEM ... always wanted to use them for my closets! ha! now I can! yea!

oh wait ... I don't need them anymore ... I just made a serious vow to ONLY keep current sizes in the closet ... no wait ... in the house ...

ha!

we'll see ... however ... it WILL NOT be seven years worth ...

So ... busy day ... busy weekend ... tell all your friends to come by ... =0)

Overwhelming, Fuzzy Feelings ... Tell A Buddy Bring A Friend (or enemy - we don't care)

Ok ... so ... let me just start by saying ...

I knew it wouldn't be easy ... but ... oh my ... getting ready for the consignment sale this weekend ... YIKES!!!!

I knew I had a lot of stuff ... however ... wow ... this is crazy!

I had 22 large plastic containers and garbage bags crammed full of clothes ... yep ... crammed ... which meant ... spot cleaning, washing, drying, ironing, hanging, pinning, and now ... I'm at the point of pricing .... AAHHHHHH ....

crazy ...

not to mention ... each outfit, dress, etc. that I picked up ... brought back a wealth of memories ... not to mention all the warm fuzzies ...

My friend Stacey is helping me get this all together ... couldn't do it without her! She has been laughing her head off at me ... sitting in the floor having my moments ... oohing and aahhhing over my things ... and can't believe that I can recall when she wore certain outfits to certain places ...

I know ... I'm crazy ... CRAZY for not doing this sooner!!! Oh MY GOODNESS ... 7 years worth of stuff ... YACK!

Yep ... so ... tell all your friends, family members, buddies, enemies ... we don't care, we'll sell to anyone! ha!

Sunday is the pre-sale and I have this funny feeling, that the house will be full from 2-4 on Sunday ... everyone wanting first dibs ... I have several others contributing ... it should be a very large sale ...

My stuff alone is overwhelming ... and there will be plenty of clothes, shoes, accessories, baby items, nursery items, even new stuff coming in from others ... also ... Renee is going to be setting up a room full of scrapbooking stuff ... all new ... I have people coming just for the scrapbook stuff ...

And Stacy is setting up her credit card machine (she owns Merriman's Tea Room in Ashland City) ... nice ... I know that will help me out ... who has cash or checks anymore? not me! Hopefully doing this will entice others to come on out and visit as well ... =0)

yep ... warm fuzzies ...

and ... lots more to do ... to finish up!!! Thank goodness it's just Wednesday and I have until Saturday to get this all together!!!!

Got Hay?

Today was Jr. Eagle day at school ...

if you are a part of the Jr. Eagle program (donate money, get a shirt and a treat at the ballgames) you get to wear your Jr. Eagle shirt to school on days like this.

Today was also magazine sales award day in assembly this afternoon ... if the school met their goal (which they did) the principals had to kiss a real pig!

(this guy's shirt intrigued me ... I'm assuming he's the owner of the pig)

nice ...

then ... LeAnna was awarded her gift card to ToysRUs for winning the pig race a couple of weeks ago ...

she was very excited to say the least ...

it was a happy nice day ...

KK From the UK ...

Ok ... what?!

This is C R A Z Y .....

found this ... and thought ... hmmm ... nice ... kill two birds with one GIANT stone! If you could live with yourself afterwards!

looks like a "normal" burger right?! WRONG ... if you will look a little closer ... you will notice a nice Krispy Kreme doughnut housing this powerful sandwich! Yep ... a KK Burger thanks to the folks at Bompas and Parr (out of London).

I just found this rather amusing this morning ...

anyhoo ...

Lot's on the plate today - thank goodness it's NOT the above! (not to mention it's 1,000 calories and 45 fat grams!) ha!

F A M I L Y . . .

Family ...

Everybody's got one ...

Some like their family, some don't ...

I like mine.

We had our annual "Neely" family reunion in Gatlinburg this last weekend (Fri-Tue) ... (Neely was my Mom's maiden name)

We've been meeting since 1977 ... which makes this 31 years ... for the most part we've met in Gatlinburg ... we've met a few other places here and there (Florida, Georgia, even Nashville a few times) ... but "Gatlinburg has been the place we've met the majority of the time. We rent a large chalet and everyone stays in the same place ... We stayed in one this year that sleeps 35 ... but it was our lowest year in attendance ... 22 ... cost of gas, hurricane Ike and a few others things kept some of our family from attending ... a few had already purchased plane tickets but were in the middle of hurricane Ike and couldn't leave (they live near Houston) ... very thankful they were okay.

We all had a great time ... we pretty much do the same things every year ... eat ... eat ... eat ... and then we take a break ... and then eat again! Oh MY GOODNESS ... I thought I was dying ... I've been trying to lose weight this summer and have really cut back and changed my eating habits ... so I literally felt stuffed all the time while we were there! horrible! Anyhoo ... back home and back in the grind ... I haven't said much about it ... well, come to think of it ... I haven't said anything about it ... but ... I've lost 23 lbs this summer ... I really started getting on the bandwagon when our "Biggest Losers" program started at church in March ... however ... I was determined NOT to join ... I didn't want the pressure of "having" to try and lose weight ... so I did it myself and actually shocked myself ... I had really let myself get on up there to about "none of your business" lbs ... ha! And was very determined to lose ... I am now under my pre-pregnancy weight and would like to lose about 5-10 more ...

Weight loss is one of the hardest things I've ever done ... it is SO not easy ... but there is something to be said for "will power" once you lose a few, it feeds the determination to keep on keeping on. I think my biggest feat ... was finding out when I went to the doctor a week ago ... that my sugar levels were not out the roof losing this weight ... it's very easy for a diabetic to do what they call "diabetic binge" ... where you lower your insulin intake and eat like nobody's business ... you can drop the weight seriously fast but it can put you in some serious danger at the same time ... so I was very happy and my doc was very happy that I lost a lot of weight without out-of-control sugar levels! It is a known fact that when you get your diabetes in serious good control, you gain weight ... it just happens ... so that's why I'm very happy about this. My sugar levels could be in MUCH better control, but at least they're not out the roof at "this given moment" in time - ha! Gotta work on that too!

Anyhoo ... family ... yep ... when you actually enjoy being around your family at a reunion ... you know you've got a good one!

We had a great time.

LeAnna playing "Dirty Christmas" ... (do this every year)

This is where "MacKenzie" was born at Wacky Bear ... (do you know how many births we've had at places like this?! - oh my ... it was her money and this is what she decided to spend it on)

(all of these pics were taken with the iphone - not feeling the love with the "not so very" mega pixels on it) - ha!

Now ... one gazillion things to do now that I'm back home! This consignment sale that I've dedicated myself to is coming up in a week and a half ... (tell all your friends) ... got LeAnna's birthday party to finish planning ... have clients, sunday school planning, not to mention that I have a full-time job as well! AAAAHHHHHHH!

Anyhoo ... life ... it happens ... it's happening ...

I must get at it ...

Lovely Day ... tammy
