Toothless In Bellevue ...

It "finally" happened!

It's been "wiggling" for months now!!! Literally since the end of last year ... it was pretty loose when she went to the dentist in Feburary ... and the dentist said it could be weeks or it could be months!

So ... we were out eating last night after church ... and LeAnna got up from her seat and came towards us "grunting" with her mouth open and hand stuck out ... we thought the chicken was too hot ... until we looked down at her hand ... and there was her tooth!

Wow! What a surprise! She has been waiting a LONG time!!! When she first discovered it was loose, she thought it was going to come out right then!

She hasn't let us get near it hardly in a few weeks ... it was barely hanging on!

So ... thanks to the "chicken" ... we have a tooth "in hand"!

She was scared to go to sleep last night! She kept asking questions about the Tooth Fairy ... and was very afraid ... Daddy ended up sleeping with her ... after me telling her that it was all made up ... it was pretend ... and there was nothing for her to be afraid of ...

Then she said ... "oh, you and Daddy are the ones who put something under my pillow!" ...

ha! oh well ... I would rather tell her the truth than for her to worry herself to sleep!

I waited until I knew she was asleep and removed the tooth from under her pillow and put some money under her pillow ...

Unknown to me ... Daddy did the same thing!

When she woke up this morning - she had $25.00!!! ha! Neither one of us had change, so we gave her what we had ... and she got $25 out of us!

THEN ... she paid a little visit to Nana this morning ... and came back with $10!

We talked to Papaw on the phone ... and he said, "bring me the tooth, I've got something for her"!

We told her this only happend on the very first tooth! =0

My sweet baby ... I look at these pictures where her tooth that fell out last night, is barely poking through the skin ... 5 years ago about this time ... Wow! Time flies!

At "that moment", five years ago ... I didn't even want to think about "this moment" ...

But ... here we are!

Losing that first tooth might not seem like much to some people ... but to her it's a VERY big deal!

"Something New" ...

"A New Experience" ...

And to me ... it is sort of a "passage way" from baby to offically starting to grow up!

The baby tooth has been pushed out by a new permanent tooth ... a tooth that will remain with her for the rest of her life!

Just another "reason" to be nostalgic ... while watching the pages turn in "her book".

Happy "Toothless" Day ... tammy
