Flapjacks, lip gloss and chapstick ...

We just got home from our trip to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg ... brief, but fun. From flapjacks to go-carts to putt-putt - we did it! It's always nice to get away - even it's for only two days!

We had a great time with our friends "The Shoulders". LeAnna, Preston and Peyton had a blast doing all the fun things that kids ages 4-10 can find to do! We did some shopping ... and LeAnna took Peyton to "Claires" to look at the Hello Kitty and Cinderella "stuff"! At first Peyton didn't want to go in to Claires with us - but after some "talking", he obliged and when we left, LeAnna had made a purchase for him - some Napoleon Dynamite chapstick along with her new purse and lip gloss mirror! Too cute to watch them interact with one another! They are pictured above.

Back home - and lot's to do ... unpack (ugh!) .... not the "fun" part of a trip - but necessary.

I was sad to hear of Don Knott's death upon returning home this evening ... he was one my Dad's favorite actors and we watched many Andy Griffith episodes together prior to his death. I still find myself catching an episode of Andy Griffith every once in a while and immediately "recalling" a special memory of sharing that particular episode with my Dad ...

Good evening as I leave you with this thought ...

"Treat your family like company .... and your company like family"
