We Made It!

This is the July/August issue of "Cooking with Paula Deen" magazine ... I went to the grocery store today to make my purchases for the week ... and to my surprise ... finally ... it was here!

We've been waiting over a week! LeAnna was excited! We bought 4 copies! ha! Well ...

One to look at ...

One to put up ...

One for Nana ...

and ... hmmm ... another one just in case ...

ha!

What is VERY funny ... is that ...

The event that I was one of the staff photographers for was to benefit the Miracle League in Atlanta ... the Miracle League is an organization that allows handicapped children to have an opportunity to play baseball. Very cool organization ... it was a very neat evening and I was just glad to be a part of it ...

LeAnna had already decided that her 5th birthday party was going to be a "cooking party" ... so how perfect to have a picture with Paula Deen and maybe get an autograph ...

So "in hopes" of that ... I purchased a child size red apron and we had "planned" to get our pictures and autographs over with before the event began ...

Well ... nothing EVER goes as planned ... especially with me! =)

The airport lost Paula Deens luggage ... so by the time they got it all straighted out ... it pushed the agenda "way" behind! So ... I was promised that all of that would happen at some point ... but probably after the event!

Mind you ... I had taken extra pains to get LeAnna dressed, hair all curled up, etc. and there VERY early ... not knowing that all of this "delay" had happened!

SO ... LeAnna ended up waiting with Nana and Granny in the lobby for an extra 2 hours or so when they could have waited in the room ... then the event began and it lasted a VERY long time ... almost to the end of the evening, LeAnna started getting sleepy and finally gave up before it was over! By the time Paula finished all she had to do for the League ... it was SO late ... we woke LeAnna up and bribed her with EVERYTHING to keep her awake ...

And ... finally it happened ...

but ... it was so late, and her curls were about out ... and she was 1/2 awake ...

So ... because no one really knows "why" LeAnna is in the picture with Paula, getting her apron autographed ... it almost appears that she is one of the retarded kids.

ha!

Oh well ... at least we know different ... and at least we got the pictures, a short video message to LeAnna from Paula and her apron signed!

Wow!

Oh well ... brush with fame ... even if it appeared that she was a part of the evening!

And ... way cool ... that they gave me credit as one of the photographers ... yea fun!
